유아교육학 분야에서의 유아 텃밭활동 관련 연구동향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아 텃밭활동을 ‘어린이집이나 유치원 공간에서 동식물을 가꾸고 이용하는 자연활동’으로 정의하고, 동물활동을 제외한 식물활동 중심으로 유아교육학 분야에서의 유아 텃밭활동 관련 연구동향을 분석하였다. 이에 2003년부터 2022년 현재까지 발간된 국내 학술논문과 학위논문 총 125편을 대상으로 연구시기별, 방법별, 주제별로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아 텃밭활동 관련 연구는 2003년에 처음 시작되어 2018년까지 지속적인 증가세를 보이다가 이후 2022년까지는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 대다수의 연구는 단일연령을 대상으로 노지텃밭에서 실행되었고, 질적연구보다 양적연구가 주를 이루었다. 셋째, 텃밭활동과 유아발달과의 관계를 주제로 한 연구가 가장 많았다. 연구동향 분석 결과를 바탕으로 영유아뿐만 아니라 조력자, 지역사회와의 연계 등으로 대상을 확대하는 연구와 텃밭활동 경험세계에 다가가는 질적 탐구 및 텃밭활동에 대한 학문적 논의의 심화가 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the domestic research trends in early childhood education on childhood farming activities, defined as “natural activities of cultivating and using plants and animals in daycare centers or kindergarten spaces, focusing on activities involving plants. A total of 125 domestic academic articles and dissertations published as of 2022 were analyzed by research period, method, and topic. First, research on childhood farming activities first began in 2003 and showed a steady increase until 2018, but then showed a tendency to decrease until 2022. Second, the majority of studies were conducted in open gardens, targeted a single age group, and were mainly quantitative rather than qualitative. Third, most of the research concerned the relationship between farming activities and early childhood development. The results of the research trend analysis suggest that research extending the target beyond young children to examine linkages with assistant and local communities, qualitative research on the world of farming activity experience, and in-depth discussions of farming activities in academia are significant directions of future research.
