국문 초록

이 글은 2022 개정 교육과정에 따른 교과서 정책의 방향을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 교과서는 교육과정을 구현하기 위한 교육용자료에 해당되기 때문에, 개정 교육과정의 취지에 부합하여야하기에 이에 대한 연구를 수행한 것이다. 연구의 내용은 우선 한국의 교과서 제도의 운영에 대한 고찰을 통해 교과서 제도의 변천과 특징적인 면을 알아보았다. 다음으로 교과서 제도의 평가를 수행하였고, 여기서는 현행 교과서 제도의 합리적 운영 여부, 인정 제도의 확대로 인한 교과서 제도 취지의 부합성 등에 대한 검토를 하였다. 그 다음으로는 2022 개정 교육과정의 방향을 살펴봄으로써 교과서 정책을 방향성에 대한 이해를 도모하였다. 뒤를 이어 교과서 제도 운영의 원리에서는 국가주도형 교과서 정책, 교과서 중심의 수업, 그리고 사회지위 획득 수단으로의 교과서 활용 등의 문제를 통해 교과서에 대한 문제를 알아보았다. 마지막으로 교과서 정책의 방향과 과제에서는 교과서 제도 운영 원리에서 나타난 역기능적인 면을 표준화된 지식의 경직된 사고의 우려, 탈맥락적 지식의 문제, 자기주도적 학습에 역행하는 체제나 지식로 제시하였고, 이를 2022 개정 교육과정의 총론에서 담고 있는창의성, 삶 또는 생활의 맥락 고려, 자기주도적 학습에 역행하는 사고를 고착화시킬 우려가 있는 것으로 정리하였다. 그리고 이들 각 문제에 대한 검토와 더불어 방향과 과제를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This article aims to explore the direction of textbook policy according to the 2022 revised curriculum. Since textbooks are educational materials for implementing the curriculum, research was conducted on them because they must meet the purpose of the revised curriculum. The contents of the study first examined the changes and characteristics of the textbook system through a review of the operation of the Korean textbook system. Next, the evaluation of the textbook system was conducted, and here, the rational operation of the current textbook system and the conformity of the purpose of the textbook system due to the expansion of the recognition system were reviewed. Next, by looking at the direction of the 2022 revised curriculum, we sought to understand the direction of the textbook policy. Subsequently, in the principle of operating the textbook system, problems with textbooks were investigated through problems such as state-led textbook policy, textbook-oriented classes, and the use of textbooks as a means of obtaining social status. Finally, the direction and task of textbook policy presented dysfunctional aspects of the textbook system operation principle as concerns about rigid thinking of standardized knowledge, problems of decontextual knowledge, and systems or knowledge that go against self-directed learning. In addition, directions and tasks were presented along with a review of each of these problems.
