국문 초록

Warthin tumor (WT) is the second most common salivary gland tumor. It is primarily involving the parotid gland. It does not usually cause problems for diagnosis and management when present within the parotid gland. However, extraparotid WT (EPWT) has been rarely reported. EPWT may mimic metastasis in patients have history of cancers. The authors report a case of EPWT in a 74-year-old male who had a history of hepatocellular carcinoma. The patient received prior liver wedge resection for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma 11 months ago. Smooth non-tender mass was detected in the right neck level II two weeks ago. Neck computed tomography showed normal parotid, submandibular and thyroid glands. Excisional biopsy was taken under the impression of metastatic cancer. The biopsy showed EPWT. EPWT may be discovered during follow-up of cancer patients, and it may mimic metastatic node. Clinical and pathological awareness to avoid misdiagnosis of EPWT is discussed with literature review.
