AI 시민성 교육의 내용 요소에 관한 연구 - AI 윤리 가이드라인을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 AI 기술로 인해 변화하는 시대를 대비하여 시민이 지녀야 할 태도와 역량을 AI 시민성의 주요 내용으로 제시하고, AI 시민성을 실현하기 위해 내면화해야 할 핵심 가치와 이를 교육하기 위한 내용 요소를 개발하는 것에 목적이 있다. 기존에 논의되어온 디지털 시민성의 개념과 관점, 내용 요소 등을 탐색한 선행연구를 분석하여 AI 시민성의 개념과 내용 요소의 기준점을 설정하였으며, AI 시대의 특징을 분석하여 이로부터 발생할 수 있는 윤리적·사회적 문제점을 고려한 후 AI 시민성의 세 가지 핵심영역인 ‘AI 기술의 안전하고 적합한 활용’, ‘AI를 윤리적이고 책임감 있게 사용하는 태도’, ‘AI 시대의 사회구성원으로서 의사소통과 참여’를 도출하였다. AI 시민성의 핵심 가치 및 내용 요소를 개발하기 위해 그동안 발표된 AI 윤리 가이드라인 중에서 가장 대표적인 EU의 신뢰할 만한 AI 윤리 가이드라인(2019), 한국의 사람이 중심이 되는 인공지능 윤리기준(2020), 유네스코의 AI 윤리 권고(2021)를 선택하여 공통적으로 추구하는 원칙을 찾고, 그 원칙을 실현하기 위해 AI 시대의 시민이 갖추어야 할 태도와 역량을 포괄할 수 있는 핵심 가치 8개를 선별하였다. 첫 번째 영역인 ‘AI 기술의 안전하고 적합한 활용’의 실현을 위한 핵심 가치는 주체성, 안전성, 성찰성이며 두번째 영역인 ‘AI를 윤리적이고 책임감있게 사용하는 태도’의 실현을 위한 핵심 가치는 책임성, 공정성이며 세 번째 영역인 ‘AI 시대의 사회구성원으로서 의사소통과 참여’의 실현을 위한 핵심 가치는 공공성, 협력성, 포용성이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to present the attitudes and capabilities of citizens as the main contents of AI citizenship in preparation for the changing era due to AI technology, and to develop core values and content elements to educate them to realize AI citizenship. The research content set for this is, first, what is the content area of AI citizenship that can be constructed from the characteristics of the AI era? Second, what are the core values of citizenship that can be constructed based on common content claimed by ethical guidelines? Third, what are the content elements of AI citizenship education? In order to solve the research problem, previous studies that explored the concepts, perspectives, and content elements of digital citizenship were analyzed to set a reference point for the concept and content elements of AI citizenship. In addition, four characteristics of the AI era were analyzed (formation and utilization of big data, increased utilization of personal data, AI technology with specific capabilities, and metaverse world fused with AI technology). Considering the ethical and social problems that may arise from this, three key areas of AI citizenship were derived: ‘safe and appropriate use of AI technology’, ‘attitude to use AI ethically and responsibly’, and ‘communication and participation as a member of society in the AI era’. In order to develop the core values and content elements of AI citizenship, the EU’s most reliable AI ethics guidelines (2019), Korean people-centered AI ethics standards (2020), and UNESCO’s AI ethics recommendation (2021) were selected to find common principles and cover the attitudes and capabilities of AI citizens in the AI era.
