국문 초록

인간은 끊임없이 편리함을 추구하고, 이를 위해 다양한 기술을 개발하였다. 이제는 단편적인 인간의 한 부분을 극복하는 기술을 넘어 인간처럼 행동할 수 있는, 지능을 가진 존재를 개발하고 있다. 새로운 기술은 상상치 못했던 것에서 인간을 해방시키기도 하지만 늘 뒤따라오는 부작용과 역기능이 있다. 2020년 MBC에서 방영한 VR 휴먼 다큐멘터리 <너를 만났다>를 통해 죽은 사람이 디지털로 환생하는 사례가 있었다. 죽은 자와 다시 대화하고 소통할 수 있는 기술, 관연 축복이기만 할까? 죽음을 극복할 수 있다는 신기술의 기쁨 이면에는 고려해야 할 윤리적 문제들이 많다. 그러나 아직 이러한 현상을 지칭하는 용어에 대한 합의도 이루어지지 않았고, 이와 관련한 윤리적 접근 및 연구가 부족하다. 죽음이 극복 가능하게 되었을 때, 죽음의 의미가 변화하는 것은 우리 삶 전반에 영향을 주는 일임을 알아야 한다. 본 연구는 AI시대에서 디지털 환생의 윤리적 의미를 연구하기 위해, 실제 사례와 미디어 콘텐츠 사례를 중심으로 디지털 환생이 가져올 사회적 변화를 예측하고 현상의 윤리적 의미를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 기술이 사회에 미칠 영향력에 대한 윤리적 인식을 형성하는 것의 중요함을 강조한다. 디지털 환생의 윤리적 의미에 대한 인식이 확산되어 앞으로 디지털 환생과 관련된 다양한 윤리적·사회적 문제에 대한 준비의 필요성이 강조되길 바란다.

영문 초록

Humans constantly pursue convenience and have developed various tech-nologies. It is now developing intelligent beings that can act like humans beyond the technology of overcoming a fragmented part of humans. New technologies liberate humans from the unexpected, but there are always side effects that follow. VR Human Documentary aired on MBC in 2020. There was a case in which a dead person was digitally re-born through. Technology to talk and communicate with the dead, is it just a blessing? There are many ethical issues to consider behind the joy of new technol-ogies that can overcome death. However, no agreement has yet been reached on terms referring to this phenomenon, and ethical approaches and research are insufficient. When death becomes insurmountable, it should be known that changing the meaning of death affects our entire lives. In order to study the ethical meaning of digital reincarnation in the AI era, this study predicted social changes brought about by digital reincarnation, focusing on actual cases and media content cases, and analyzed the ethi-cal meaning of the phenomenon. It emphasizes the importance of forming an ethical perception of the influence of technology on society. It is hoped that awareness of the ethical meaning of digital reincarnation will spread and the need to prepare for various ethical and social problems related to digital reincarnation will be emphasized.
