작업치료(학)전공 대학생들의 치매관련 경험이 치매인식과 진로희망에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 : 본 연구는 인구고령화에 따른 치매관련 정책 및 시대적 변화에 맞추어 작업치료(학)전공 대학생들 의 치매관련 교과목이수 및 임상실습, 자원봉사, 사회서비스 등의 경험이 치매에 대한 인식과 진로희망 에 미치는 영향을 조사하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 대전, 충남, 충북, 경북 소재의 4개 대학교 작업치료(학)과에 재학 중인 학생들을 대상으로 온 라인을 통한 조사연구를 실시하였다. 설문은 2018년 5월부터 6월까지 진행되었으며, 최종적으로 207명 의 자료를 분석하였다. 결과분석을 위해 기술통계, 독립 t-검정, Pearson’s 상관계수, 위계적 회귀분석 을 실시하였다. 결과 : 치매관련 경험이 있는 대상자들에서 치매지식과 치매관련 정책인식 수준이 유의하게 높았으며, 치 매관련 경험과 치매지식 및 정책인식은 유의한 상관관계가 있음이 확인되었다. 또한, 치매관련 경험과 치매인식은 치매관련 기관으로의 진로희망에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 모델의 설명력은 26.4%였다. 진로 희망에 대한 변수들의 영향력은 치매관련 교육의 필요성, 정책인식, 사회서비스 이용경험, 교과목이수, 성별 순으로 나타났다. 결론 : 작업치료(학)전공 대학생들의 치매지식과 관련정책에 대한 관심을 높이기 위해서 교육과정에서 다양한 경험을 제공할 수 있는 방향의 모색이 필요하다. 이를 통해 사회적 흐름에 맞춘 다양한 진로방향을 제시하고, 나아가 치매 및 노인작업치료의 전문성향상에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of experience on completed dementia-related subjects, clinical practice, volunteerism, and social services regarding the cognition of dementia in occupational therapy majoring college students according to changes in the dementia policy due to an aging population. The purpose of this study was to provide a direction of education that can raise the interest in dementia and geriatric occupational therapy of occupational therapy majors. Methods: The survey was conducted online, targeting university students in Daejeon, Chungnam, Chungbuk, and Kyungbuk. The questionnaire was conducted for one month from May 1, 2018, and 207 participants participated. A frequency analysis, independent t-test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression were conducted for the analysis results. Results: Dementia knowledge and policy perception were significantly higher in subjects with dementia-related experiences, and dementia-related experiences and dementia knowledge and policy perception were significantly correlated. In addition, dementia-related experiences and awareness of dementia had a significant effect on career hopes for dementia-related organizations, and the explanatory power of the model was 26.4%. The influence of variables on career hopes showed the need for dementia education, policy awareness, experience using social services, dementia-related subjects, and gender. Conclusion: To increase interest in dementia knowledge and related policies of college students majoring in occupational therapy, it is necessary to search for ways to provide various dementia-related experiences within the curriculum. Through this, directions for careerists hoping to achieve social change will be suggested, with the hope that it will help improve the professionalism of geriatric occupational therapy.
