뇌졸중 후 편마비 운전자의 운전 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

목적 : 운전을 하고 있는 뇌졸중 운전자를 대상으로 운전 경험을 통한 어려움 및 전략들을 알아보고자한다. 연구방법 : 뇌졸중 운전자를 대상으로 운전 경험에 대하여 알아보기 위하여 질적 연구의 현상학적 연구방법 을 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 현재 운전을 하고 있는 장애 4, 5등급의 뇌졸중 환자 5명이었다. 자료 수집을 위 해 가정을 방문하여 일대일 면담을 실시하였고, 면담내용은 녹음 및 필사로 담아서 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 : 3개의 주제와 12개의 중심의미 및 24개의 의미단위로 도출하였다. 대상자들은 자신의 운전능력에 대한 불안감, 주변인의 간섭 및 반대, 지각손상의 경험, 환경적 장애 등을 경험하였고, 직접 정보수집, 자 기 격려, 보조도구 설치 및 기어변경, 위험노출의 최소화와 적극적인 사회적 권리 추구 등의 대처 전략 을 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 운전을 통해 역할을 용이하게 수행할 수 있고, 휴식 및 레져가 가능 해졌고 결과적으로 자기 만족이 향상되었다. 결론 : 뇌졸중 환자뿐만 아니라 가족 및 운전재활 전문가들이 운전 재개시 어려움을 예측하고 이에 대한 전 략 을 세우는 것이 효율적이고 안전할 것이다. 본 연구가 그에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objective : The aim of this study is to understand the driving experience and adaptive strategy of drivers after a stroke using a phenomenological method. Methods : A phenomenological method was applied to this qualitative research to investigate the experiences of five drivers regarding their difficulties and strategies while driving after a stroke. Their disability ranking was 4 or 5. To gather information, the researcher had face-to-face conversations at each driver’s home. The interview content was recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. Results : Three themes, 12 main ideas, and 24 meaning units were presented. After their stroke, the drivers experienced anxiety in their driving capacity, interference and negative reactions from other people, perceptual problems and environmental barriers, and they implemented coping strategies such as gathering first- hand information, self-encouragement, installation of assistive devices and gear transmissions, avoided exposure to dangers, and actively pursued their social rights. After their stroke, the drivers easily performed their roles, rested, and enjoyed leisure time through driving, consequently leading to an improvement in their self satisfaction. Conclusion : Predicting certain difficulties and applying planning strategies will be an efficient and safe method not only for stroke patients but also their families and driving rehabilitation specialists. This study will be used as basic data for such research.
