집단미술치료가 다문화가정 아동의 어휘력과 스트레스에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 집단미술치료가 다문화가정 아동의 언어능력과 스트레스에 미치는 효과에 대하여 검증하고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상자는 만 2세 이상 6세 이하의 아동으로 모(母)가 외국인인 다문화가정 아동들이다. 전라북도 I, J 지역에 거주중인 다문화가정 아동 중 실험집단 14명, 통제집단 10명을 선발하여, 실험집단에게는 주 1~2회, 30~40분씩, 총 12회기의 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실행하였다. 통제집단은 프로그램 실행 없이 동일한 기간이 지난 후 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 양적 분석을 위한 측정도구로 수용·표현 어휘력 검사와 코티졸 검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 측정된 자료는 비모수적 검정 방법인 Wilcoxon signed rank test를 실시하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 집단미술치료 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 수용어휘력이 유의미하게 증가하였다. 둘째, 집단미술치료 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 표현어휘력이 유의미하게 증가하였다. 셋째, 집단미술치료 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 스트레스가 유의미하게 감소하였다. 따라서 집단미술치료는 다문화가정 아동의 어휘력 향상과 스트레스 감소에 긍정적인 효과가 있었음을 시사한다. 끝으로, 연구의 제한점과 후속연구에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to conduct group art therapy for children aged from two through six who have multicultural familiy background and to find out its effects on their language development. As for the participants, fourteen children were categorized as an experimental group, whereas ten were classified as a control group, all of whom are from multicultural families who live in Jeolla Province, South Korea. One or two weekly sessions of group art therapy, which were 12 sessions in total, were conducted for the experimental group. Each session was about 30 to 40 minutes long. The Wilcoxon signed rank test was used for analyzing the results of the pre-post programs. In terms of quantitative measures, Receptive & Expressive Vocabulary Test(REVT) was performed to examine some effects on the children's vocabulary development. Cortisol tests were conducted to see the differences on stress levels before and after the art therapy program. The results showed that scores of the receptive and expressive vocabulary scales significantly increased, while he stress of the therapy group significantly decreased. These results showed that the group art therapy had positive effects on vocabulary development and stress of children from multicultural families.
