유아교사가 인식하는 교사역할에 대한 개념도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사가 인식하고 있는 교사역할에 대해 개념도 방법을 활용하여 탐색하는 것이다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 21명의 유아교육현장 교사를 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 연구 참여자들은 브레인스토밍을 이용하여 연구자가 제시한 초점 질문에 대한 생각을 자유롭게 진술하였으며, 진술문에 대한 유목화와 중요도 평정에 참여하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통해 도출된 자료는 다차원 척도분석과 위계적 군집분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 연구 참여자들의 유아교사의 역할에 대한 인식으로 46개 최종 진술문이 생성되었고, 다차원 척도분석을 통해 ‘놀이 지원하기-건강 및 안전 관리하기’, ‘유아와의 놀이-부모와의 소통’ 2개 차원으로 나누었다. 또한 군집분석을 통해 진술문을 ‘전문성 함양하기’, ‘행정업무 수행하기’, ‘학부모와 상호작용하기’, ‘놀이 지원하기’, ‘기관 및 학급 운영하기’, ‘유아의 삶 지원하기’, ‘건강 및 안전 관리하기’, ‘교육 및 지도하기’, ‘유아 관찰 및 평가하기’ 등 9개 군집으로 분류하였다. 둘째, 46개 진술문에 대한 연구 참여자들의 중요도를 분석한 결과, 군집별로는 ‘놀이 지원하기’가 가장 높은 중요도를 나타냈으며, ‘행정업무 수행하기’는 가장 낮은 중요도를 나타냈다. 진술문별 중요도에서는 ‘유아와 상호작용하기’, ‘유아의 놀이 지원하기’ 등이 높은 중요도를 나타냈으며, ‘기관평가 준비하기’, ‘교실 청소하기’ 등은 낮은 중요도를 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아교사의 역할이해와 역량개발, 교사 교육의 방향 모색에 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore early childhood teachers’ perceptions of the role of teacher using the concept mapping. To achieve the purpose of the study, 21 early childhood education teachers were selected as participants. Participants expressed their thoughts on the focus questions through brainstorming activities and provided nomadic and importance ratings for the resulting statements. The research data were analyzed using multidimensional scale analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. A total of 46 statements were suggested by participants regarding their perceptions of the role of the early childhood teacher. Through multidimensional scale analysis, ‘Supporting play-managing health and safety’ and ‘Playing with children-parents’ emerged as two dimensions of ‘Communication.’ In addition, through cluster analysis, statements were categorized and categorized into 9 clusters : ‘Cultivating professionalism’, ‘Performing administrative duties’, ‘Interacting with parents’, ‘Supporting play’, ‘Running institutions and classes’, and ‘Supporting children’s lives’, ‘Health and safety management’, ‘Education and guidance’, and ‘Observation and evaluation of children’. As a result of analyzing the importance scores of participants for the 46 statements, by cluster, ‘Supporting play’ showed the highest importance, and ‘Performing administrative tasks’ showed the lowest importance. In terms of importance by statement, ‘Interacting with young children’ and ‘Supporting young children’s play’ showed high importance, while ‘Preparing for institutional evaluation’ and ‘Cleaning the classroom’ showed low importance. The results of this study will be able to provide basic data for role classification and competency development of early childhood teachers and implications for the direction of teacher education.
