국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 비장애인과 지체장애인을 대상으로 Rosenberg 자존감 척도를 활용하여 전반적 자존감의 구인 동일성과 잠재평균 동일성을 알아보았다. 연구방법: 이 연구는 한국복지패널조사 15차년도에서 자존감 자료를 추출하여 사용하였으며, 다음에 대해 알아보았다. a) Rosenberg 자존감 척도와 관련하여 알려진 7개의 대안적 요인 모형의 적합도. b) Rosenberg 자존감 척도에서 전반적 자존감, 긍정적 진술 문항 잠재방법 요인, 부정적 진술 문항 잠재방법 요인을 지정한 모형의 비장애인과 지체장애인 간 구인 동일성. c) 자존감 잠재평균의 비장애인과 지체장애인 간 동일성. 연구결과: 첫째, 자존감 척도의 형태 동일성, 약한 동일성, 강한 동일성이 지지되었다. 그러나 연구결과는 Rosenberg 자존감 척도의 요인구조가 긍정적 진술 문항 잠재방법 요인, 부정적 진술 문항의 잠재방법 요인의 영향을 받는다는 것을 보여주었다. 둘째, 지체장애인의 전반적 자존감 잠재평균은 비장애인보다 유의하게 낮았다. 결론: 주요 결과는 비장애인과 지체장애인 간에 Rosenberg 자존감 척도의 요인구조, 긍정적 진술 문항, 부정적 진술 문항 방법효과에서 동일하다고 제안한다. 이는 비장애인과 지체장애인이 Rosenberg 자존감 척도 문항들로 구성된 전반적 자존감 구인을 유사한 방식으로 해석한다는 것을 뜻한다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test factor structure and latent mean invariance of general self-esteem between people with and without physical disabilities. Methods: Data were obtained from the 15th wave in Korean Welfare Panel Study. This study assessed the following: a) the goodness of fit of seven alternative factor models for the Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale(RSES); b) the multigroup invariance of global self-esteem and method effects associated with positively and negatively worded items on the RSES between people with and without physical disabilities; c) the latent mean invariances of self-esteem between people with and without physical disabilities, using multigroup structural equation modeling. Results: First, the configural invariance of the RSES and the weak and strong invariances were supported. However, the findings of this study show that the factor structure of the RSES is contaminated by method effects associated with positively and negatively worded items. Second, the mean self-esteem factor of people with physical disabilities was significantly lower than that of people without physical disabilities. Conclusions: The results suggest that there were few differences between people with and without physical disabilities in terms of the factor structure and method effects associated with positively and negatively worded items of the RSES, indicating that people with and without physical disabilities interpret the self-esteem construct of the RSES items similarly.
