텍스트 유형에 따른 대학생의 읽기이해 능력의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 4년제와 2년제 대학생 197명을 대상으로 설명식 글과 이야기글을 활용하여 읽기이해능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 인지과정 요인이 무엇인지를 조사하고자 하였다. 대학생들의 읽기이해 능력을 측정하기 위해서 Potts와 Peterson(1985), Hannon과 Daneman(2001)이 개발한 검사 도구를 본 연구에 맞게 개정하여 사용하였다. 검사도구는 각 텍스트 유형에 따라 읽기능력의 하위 요인을 측정하는 총 16문항으로 구성되어있다. 측정 결과 설명식 글에서는 지식통합이 읽기이해능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 변인으로 나타났으며, 이야기 글에서는 자료추론이 읽기이해능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 변인으로 나타났다. 또한, 4년제 학생의 경우에는 지식통합이 읽기이해능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 변인으로 나타났으며, 2년제 학생의 경우 자료기억이 읽기이해능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 변인으로 나타났다. 이는 텍스트의 유형과 대상에 따라서 읽기이해능력을 설명하는 변인이 각기 다르게 나타날 수 있다는 시사점을 보여준다.

영문 초록

The studies was targeted on university and college students and text which is made up of several paragraphs, expository text or story text, was also utilized for the studies. The studies were primarily intended to explain what components best describe reading comprehension. 197 students took part in the studies and the studies that were originally developed by Potts & Peterson (1985) and Hannon & Daneman(2001) were aptly devised to measure reading comprehension of the students. Two types of text, expository text and story text were utilized to measure reading comprehension of the students. As a result, knowledge integration was a variable that can best describe the result of reading comprehension in expository text. Also, the result of reading comprehension was well explained by text inference in story text. Knowledge integration was a variable that can well explain reading comprehension of university students. Likewise text memory best described reading comprehension of college students if the result of measure was shown by the standard of the students. The result of the studies shows us implications that variables for explanation of reading comprehension may work differently depending on types of text and subjects in the test.
