사이버 박물관에 대한 초등학교 교사와 학생의 인식 조사 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 사이버 박물관이 개설 운영하고 있는 교육프로그램의 교육적가치에 대한 인식을 교육내용구성, 교육적 효과성, 수업활용성을 중심으로 조사하고 이를 바탕으로 개선을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5학년 8개반 240명을 대상으로 사이버 박물관을 활용한 수업 5차시 프로그램을 2회 실시하였다. 또한 이들과 초등교사 20명을 대상으로 설문조사와 인터뷰한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유물에 대한 기본적인 정보와 자료들 이외에 역사 교육과 관련한 정보 및 프로그램이 부족하며, 관련 교육 자료 또한 박물관 체험학습을 위한 사전 단계의 교육 자료들로써 초등학교 수업 연계 활용에 제한적이었고 웹기반 커뮤니티 기능의 보완이 필요했다. 둘째, 필요한 자료검색이 용이하지 않으며 소요시간이 오래 걸려 활용성이 떨어졌다. 셋째, 교사들은 안전성, 효과성, 매력성, 사용편의성은 있다고 인식하고 있지만 효율성, 학습지원성, 수업 활용성 부분에서 매우 보완되어야 할 점이 많은 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 넷째, 학습자의 사고력 향상을 위해 필요한 웹기반 토론활동 및 다양한 디지털미디어의 활용의 활성화가 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 향후 토론활동의 적극적 활용을 통한 사고력 촉진 과제 및 학교 교육과정과의 연계를 위한 프로그램의 설계ㆍ개발이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to research the educational value of learning programs operated by cyber museums with focus on organization of educational materials, educational effectiveness, and applicability in classes and to deduce areas for further improvement. For the study, a survey was conducted on 20 teachers and 240 students across eight classes enrolled in the fifth grade of an elementary school based in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnamdo Province, after they participated in two cycles of 5 lessons utilizing cyber museums. The results of the study are as follows. First, from the perspective of organization of educational materials, each of the ten cyber museums provides basic information on the museum, a cyber gallery, search capability and information on artifacts, learning materials for elementary school teachers and students, and online community functions such as Frequently Asked Questions. While information on artifacts is available, programs and information regarding historical background is lacking. Furthermore, the little information that is available on historical background is for studying purposes prior to visiting a museum and has limited use in integration into an elementary school class. It should also be noted that online community functions need to be improved to foster easier sharing and communication among participants in these classes. Second, cyber museums are interesting and attractive learning tools to students, but search capability is deficient in terms of usability and speed. Third, teachers perceive cyber museums to be stable, effective, attractive, and convenient, but believe there is a large room for improvement in terms of efficiency, support for learning, and applicability in classes.
