사회과 웹기반 문제중심학습이 초등학생의 창의성과 학업성취에 미치는 효과*

국문 초록

이 연구는 웹기반 문제중심학습이 창의력과 창의적 성향 그리고 학업성취에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 목적이었다. 초등학교 5학년 60명을 대상으로 11주 33차시에 걸쳐 실험집단은 사회과 웹기반 문제중심학습을 실시하고 비교집단은 교사주도의 일반수업을 실시하였다. 두 집단의 창의력, 창의적 성향 및 학업성취 도 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 하여 사후검사를 공변량분석 하였다. 연구결과 창 의력 검사와 학업성취도 검사 결과는 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 창의적 성향검사에서는 실험집단이 비교집단 보다 전체점수 및 인내, 동기, 호기심, 모험심, 자신감 하위요인 점수가 유의하게 더 높게 나타났다. 이러한 결과 는 웹기반 문제중심학습의 단기적 처치는 창의적 성향에는 영향을 미치나 창의력 과 학업성취도에 미치는 효과에는 제한이 따르는 것으로 해석된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of problembased learning through the web on creativity and achievement. In order to achieve the above research purpose, sixty students in 5th grade from W elementary school in Daegu city were chosen as research subjects. These students were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group learned Social Studies subject by problem-based learning through the web for 33 lessons of 11 weeks. The control group learned the same contents for the same period only through the traditional teacher-directed instruction. T test and ANCOVA procedure were applied to analyze the data of both groups. The results of this study showed that creative abilities and achievement were not significantly different between the experimental group and the control group. But scores of the total creative personality and its sub factors, such as persevera nce, motivation, curiosity, adventure selfconfidence, of the experimental group were significantly higher than the scores of the control group. These results imply that the short term implementation of problembased learning through the web promotes creative personality, but do not affect much on creative abilities and achievement.
