기후변화교육 관련 2022 개정 교육과정 내용 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정에 포함된 기후변화 관련 내용을 분석한 것이다. 분석을 위하여 교육과정 총론 및 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교 공통 과정의 교육과정, 그리고 중학교와 고등학교에서의 선택 교과를 분석하였다. 기후변화와 관련된 내용을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2022 개정 교육과정 총론에서 교육과정 주요 개정 배경 중 하나로 기후⋅생태환경 변화를 언급하고 있으며, 범교과 학습 주제 중 하나로 기후변화와 밀접한 관련이 있는 환경⋅지속가능발전 교육을 제시하고 있다. 둘째, 초등학교 단위의 교육과정에서 기후변화는 [1∼2 학년군]의 바른 생활, [3∼4학년군]의 과학, [5∼6학년군]의 도덕과 사회 교과에서 다루고 있었다. 셋째, 중학교에서는 도덕과, 사회교과, 과학교과, 수학교과, 보건교과에서도 다루고 있으며, 전체적으로 초등학교와 비교해 기후변화 관련 개념이나 접근 방법이 차별화되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 고등학교 공통 과정에서는 통합사회, 통합과학, 과학탐구실험, 공통수학 과목에서 다루고 있다. 또한, 선택 과목에서는 윤리 문제 탐구, 역사로 탐구하는 현대 세계, 여행지리, 지구과학, 인공지능 수학 과목에서 다루고 있다. 마지막으로 이번 2022 개정 교육과정에서 기후변화와 관련된 가장 두드러진 내용이 기후변화와 지속가능발전, 기후변화와 환경생태라는 과목을 설정한 것이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the contents related to climate change included in the 2022 revised curriculum. The general curriculum, along with the common curricula of elementary, middle, and high schools and optional subjects in middle and high schools were analyzed. The following conclusions were drawn from the analysis. First, in the general curriculum, climate and ecological environment changes are mentioned as part of the reasoning behind the major revisions, and environment and sustainable development education related to climate change is presented as one of the subjects of cross-curricular learning. Second, in the elementary school curriculum, climate change is covered in right life subjects for 1st and 2nd graders, science for 3rd and 4th graders, and moral subjects and social studies subjects for 5th and 6th graders. Third, in the middle school, climate change is discussed in moral, social, science, mathematics, and health subjects. Overall, the concept or approach towards climate change is different compared to that in the elementary school. Fourth, climate change is considered in integated society, integrated science, and scientific inquiry experiments. In mathematics, the matrices are related to climate change. In addition, climate change is also discussed in the ethical issues exploration, contemporary world through history, travel geography, earth science, and artificial intelligence mathematics. Finally, in the 2022 revised curriculum, the establishment of climate change and sustainable development, climate change, and environmental ecology subjects are the prominent highlights.
