국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 증강현실 콘텐츠 제작 활동과 연계한 기후변화 교육이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도에 미치는 교육적 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해, 선행 연구에 기초하여 총 12차시 분량의 AR 콘텐츠 제작 활동과 연계한 기후변화 교육 프로그램(CCEP-AR)을 개발한 후, 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로 그 효과를 탐색하였다. 이질통제집단 설계 방식에 따라 수행한 정량적 연구 결과, CCEP-AR을 경험한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도에서 높은 점수를 보였으며, 그 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 또한 실험집단에 속한 일부 학생들과 집단 면담으로 수행한 정성적 연구 결과, CCEP-AR은 기후변화 문제 및 기후변화 대응 방법에 대한 학습자의 능동적 학습을 유도하고, 기후변화에 대응하는 실천 의지 및 태도 함양을 촉진하는 등 학습자의 인지적⋅정의적 영역의 학습에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 학생들이 제작한 AR 콘텐츠를 집단 면담 결과와 종합적으로 분석한 결과, 개별 학생의 디지털 소양 수준에 따라 CCEP-AR의 교육적 효과가 상이하게 나타난다는 것을 확인하였다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 학교 현장에서 CCEP-AR을 성공적으로 운영하는 방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the effects of a climate change education program linked with augmented reality (AR) content-making activities on the perception and attitude of elementary school students toward climate change. To this end, a climate change education program linked with AR content-making activities (CCEP-AR) comprising 12 sessions was developed based on literature review; further, its effects on 5th grade students were explored. A quantitative study conducted according to the nonequivalent control group design method showed that the experimental group experiencing CCEP-AR scored higher in perception and attitude toward climate change than the control group; the difference was noted to be statistically significant. Additionally, a qualitative study conducted through group interviews with some students belonging to the experimental group indicated that CCEP-AR effectively in impacted the cognitive and affective areas of learners; for instance, it led them to actively learn about climate change problems and methods to cope with it and cultivate a practice will and attitude toward climate change. In contrast, as a result of comprehensively analyzing AR content produced by students with the results of group interviews, it was confirmed that the educational effect of CCEP-AR varied depending on the digital literacy level of individual students. Based on these results, we discussed measures to successfully implement CCEP-AR in schools.
