아동보호전문기관 상담원의 학대피해아동 상담 경험

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 아동보호전문기관 상담원의 학대피해아동 상담 경험을 탐색하고, 이를 통해 아동보호체계의 변화 속에서 상담원이 수행하는 아동 상담의 의미와 방향을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전국의 아동보호전문기관 상담원 20명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 초점집단인터뷰를 4회 실시하였다. 수집된 자료에 대해 주제분석을 실시한 결과, ‘아동 안전 점검 차원을 넘어서는 실천을 향한 고민’, ‘아동 초기면접과 사정에 주력하려는 노력’, ‘돕기 어려운 학대피해아동의 정서, 인지와 행동’, ‘학대피해아동 상담의 고유한 의미’, ‘숙련된 아동상담을 위한 교육과 업무환경’의 주요 내용이 발견되었다. 아동보호전문기관 상담원은 가족과의 관계에 대한 통합적인 관점에서 학대피해아동과 밀접하게 만나며 아동이 진정으로 원하는 안전한 삶을 위한 변화를 이끌고자 함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 학대피해아동 사례관리과정에서 상담원의 질 높은 아동 상담을 위한 실천 및 교육 방향에 대하여 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore child protective services’ (CPS) social workers’ experiences of counseling abused children from child protection service agencies, and to explore the meaning and direction of counseling for abused children in the context of changes in the child protection system. To this end, 20 counselors from child protection service agencies across the country were selected as research participants and four focus group interviews were conducted. As a result of a subject analysis of the collected data, the categories “contemplation for practice beyond the child safety assurance,” “efforts to do well in the initial interviews and the assessments,” “the emotions, cognition, and behaviors of abused children which are difficult to help,” “the meaning of counseling for abused children,” and “education and work environment for skilled child counseling” were extracted. The results showed that CPS workers closely interact with children from an integrated perspective on their relationships with the families and lead toward changes for a safe life that children truly want. Based on this, we suggested a practical and educational direction and work environment for high-quality child counseling by CPS workers in the case management process for abused children.
