국문 초록

본 연구는 대학신입생의 부애착과 모애착이 학업과 대인관계 차원에서의 대학생활적응에 영향을 미치는지살펴보고, 이 과정에서 자기통제의 매개효과를 확인하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 대학 신입생 338명을 대상으로 부모애착 척도, 자기통제 척도, 대학생활적응 척도를 실시하고, 설문자료를 분석하였다. 구조방정식모형 분석 결과, 부애착과 모애착, 자기통제는 대학신입생의 학업적응과 대인관계적응을 모두 직접 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 모애착과 학업적응 및 대인관계적응 간의 관계에서 자기통제의 단순매개효과가유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 부애착과 모애착, 자기통제가 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향에 대해 논의하고, 대학신입생의 적응을 향상시킬 수 있는 개입에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구는 대학신입생이 대학생활에 적응하는 과정에 영향을 미치는 요인과 경로를 확인함으로써 적응을 조력할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 모색하는데 기여했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was to examine whether attachment to parent of college freshmen predict the college adjustment, and self-control mediates this relationships. The college adjustment was composed of academic and relational adjustment. The self-report data of 338 college freshmen were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that attachment to father and mother and self-control positively predicted academic and relational adjustment. And, bootstrapping method showed that self-control mediated the relationship between attachment to mother and college adaptation. That is, college freshmen who were securely attached to their mother tended to have high self-control, which in turn was associated with better adaptive college life. Based on these findings, it was discussed that college adaptation is improved by interventions for increasing interpersonal competency and self-control.
