민화를 활용한 평생교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과

국문 초록

전통문화예술에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 정부는 2008년 평생교육법에 그 내용을 포함시켰다. 본 연구는 우리나라 대표적인 전통 문화예술인 '민화'를 주제로 그 가치를 탐색하고, 나아가 평생교육 프로그램으로 개발하여 그 효과와 의미를 탐색하였다. 연구방법으로는 문헌연구, 민화의 현대적인 활용과 교육사례 조사, 평생교육차원에서 교육프로그램 개발과 적용에 따른 효과 분석 등이다. 프로그램에 대한 효과성은 작가 창작 스튜디오에서 개발된 성인대상의 민화 교육프로그램을 2020년 1월부터 2021년 9월까지 10명의 대상에게 적용하여 참여관찰(participant observation)과 결과에 대한 질적 분석을 Miles & Huberman(1994)의 3단계 분석절차를 통해 실시하여 근거이론(grounded theory designs) 관점에서 살폈다. 평생교육으로서의 민화에 대해 활용과 교육적인 측면에서 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 민화는 대중의 관심도가 높아짐에 따라 교육적 용이성과 대중성의 가치가 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 민화는 광고, 상품 디자인 등 여러 분야를 넘나들며 융합되어 활용되고 있어 대중들이 평생교육 입문단계에서 민화에 비교적 호의적인 태도를 보였다. 셋째, 평생교육 프로그램으로서 민화교육은 ‘이론지식으로 흥미와 학습의지 자극, 실기 채색기법 숙련으로 자신감과 기대감 향상, 창의성 발현, 자아실현 욕구 표출’의 효과로 정리될 수 있었다.

영문 초록

As the people's interest in traditional culture and arts heightens, the government included its contents in the Lifelong Education Act for 2008. Along with a literature review in order to figure out value and role of modern society in a folk painting. Also, it collected the Korean folk painting education courses, which are being carried out in the lifelong education dimension. The effectiveness was applied the Korean folk painting educational programs, which were developed in the artist’s creative studio, to 10 people from January of 2020 to September of 2021. The qualitative analysis on the Participant Observation and the results were executed through the three-step analysis procedure by Miles & Huberman(1994). The following are the results that examined its effectiveness in the usage and educational aspect on the folk painting as lifelong education. First, as the public interest grows, the folk painting was confirmed to be valuable in educational ease and popularity. Second, in the aspect as modern illustration, the folk painting was being fused and used with frequenting various fields such as advertising and product design. This was because the symbolism of being possessed by the folk painting was recognized as a special and highly communicative medium for consumers. Third, as a result of developing and applying the Korean folk painting education programs, the impacts could be arranged as‘stimulating an interest and willingness to learn with the theoretical knowledge, improving confidence and expectation with the practical coloring skills, revealing creativity, and expressing a desire for self-realization.’
