초등학교 진로교육 및 진로집중 학년·학기제에 대한 교사 인식 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 교사를 대상으로 진로교육에 대한 교사의 인식, 진로교육 지도실태 및 요구, 진로교육 집중학년·학기제에 대한 전반적인 인식을 분석하였다. 설문 조사는 3개지역(충남, 세종, 대전)을 대상으로 하였으며 최종 수집된 설문지는 238부였다. 수집된 자료의 통계처리는 SPSS ver 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 빈도분석과 χ2검증 방법을 이용했다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로교육에 대한 교사의 인식을 분석한 결과, 초등학교 진로교육의 필요성 및 중요성을 매우 높게 인식하고 있었다. 2015 개정 교육과정 이후, 진로교육의 역할 및 위상이 확대되어감에도 불구하고 학교에서 교사들은 진로교육에 대한 변화를 전혀 체감하지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로교육 지도실태 및 요구에 대한 분석결과, 진로교육이 주로‘창의적 체험활동’ 시간에 이루어지며, 중점 지도 내용은‘자신의 흥미·적성 탐색’영역이 주를 이루었다. 가장 효과적인 진로교육 방법은‘진로 체험활동 및 각종 행사’로 나타났고 진로교육의 가장 큰 어려움으로 ‘진로교육 자료 및 체계적인 프로그램 부족’을 꼽았다. 셋째, 진로교육 집중학년·학기제에 대한 인식을 분석한 결과, 다수의 교사가 초등학교에서 진로교육 집중학년·학기제를 운영할 수 있다는 것에 대해서 대부분‘모른다.’라는 반응을 보였고, 운영의 필요성에 대해서도 부정적인 응답이 많았다. 초등학교에서 진로교육 집중학년·학기제를 시행할 경우, 적절한 시기로‘6학년 2학기’를 꼽았다. 본 연구의 결과는 국가적 차원에서 진로교육의 위상과 역할이 확대되어감에도 불구하고 교육 패러다임의 변화에 대한 교사의 인식이 비교적 낮다는 것과 현장에서 변화가 미비한 실정임을 보여준다. 초등학교 진로교육의 발전을 위해 앞으로 본 연구의 결과를 기초로 하여 교사의 인식을 더욱 심층적으로 분석하여 교육 현장의 실제적인 필요를 인식·지원할 수 있는 연구가 더욱 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the teacher's perception of career education, the actual status and demand of career education guidance, and the overall perception of the intensive grade and semester system of career education for elementary school teachers. The survey was conducted in three regions (Chungnam, Sejong, and Daejeon), and the final collected questionnaire was 238. Statistical processing of the collected data was analyzed using the SPSS ver 21.0 program, and frequency analysis and 22 verification methods were used. The main results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing teachers' perceptions of career education, the necessity and importance of career education in elementary school were highly recognized. After the 2015 revised curriculum, despite the expansion of the role and status of career education, it was found that teachers in schools did not experience any changes in career education. Second, as a result of the analysis of the reality and needs of career education guidance, career education was mainly conducted during‘creative experience activities', and the focus of guidance was mainly in the‘exploration of one's own interest and aptitude'. The most effective career education method was 'career experience activities and various events,”and 'lack of career education materials and systematic programs”was cited as the biggest difficulty in career education. Third, as a result of analyzing the perception of the career education intensive grade and semester system, most of the teachers responded that they did not know that they could operate the career education intensive grade and semester system in elementary schools, and there were many negative responses to the need for operation. When implementing an intensive career education grade and semester system in elementary schools, 'second semester of sixth grade”was selected as the appropriate time. The results of this study show that despite the expansion of the status and role of career education at the national level, teachers' perception of changes in the educational paradigm is relatively low and that changes in the field are insufficient. For the development of career education in elementary schools, further research is required to recognize and support the practical needs of the educational field by analyzing teachers' perceptions in more depth based on the results of this study.
