가정위탁아동의 자립준비경험에 관한 질적사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 가정위탁 보호아동의 자립준비과정과 경험을 심층적으로 이해하는데 목적이 있다. 이를위해 자립준비 프로그램의 대상 연령인 위탁아동 6명과 연장위탁 중인 청소년 4명 총 10명을 심층인터뷰하였다. 질적연구방법 중 질적사례연구를 사용하여 위탁아동이 경험하고 있는 자립준비를 아동이 처한맥락 속에 나타내고자 하였다. 연구결과는 가정위탁아동의 자립준비과정 경험에 대한 진술을 토대로17개의 주제와 7개의 하위범주, 3개의 상위범주를 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 가정위탁아동의 자립은외부의 체계적 조력이나 프로그램이 부재한 가운데 개인적 대처에만 치우쳐 있었고, 탐색의 시간과미래를 위한 투자보다는 자신이 접근 가능한 현실적 경제적 선택을 우선함을 알 수 있었다. 부족한정보와 사회적 자본의 빈곤, 연로한 보호자의 영케어러(Young Carer)로서 어려움에 대한 제도적 보완이필요하며 가정위탁아동의 특수성을 감안한 실효적 제도적 지원과 당사자의 다양한 욕구가 반영되는가정위탁아동 맞춤의 자립지원이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the self-reliance preparation process and experiences of foster care youths. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 6 foster youths in regular care and 4 foster youths in extended care. The 17 themes, 7 sub-categories, and 3 categories were derived based on the statements of foster youths experiences of self-reliance preparation process. This study found that the self-reliance preparation of foster youths was mainly focused on individual coping in the absence of external systematic assistance or programs, and that foster youths tended to choose realistic economic options they could afford rather than having time for exploration and investment for the future. Social policies and programs need to be tailored to support foster youths who experience difficulties as young carers of their old kinship carers and lack information and social capitals for self-reliance.
