국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육기관의 통합된 공간에서 나타나는 아이들의 일상생활을 살펴보는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 부산지역 공동육아 어린이집인 A 어린이집을 선정하고 2007년 1월 2일부터 2007년 4월 24일까지 총 35회의 관찰을 통해 참여관찰, 교사 면담, 그리고 어린이집의 각종 문서를 자료로 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 주제에 따라 분류, 분석하였고 연구결과, A 어린이집의 통합된 공간 속에서 아이들은 자유롭게 이동하며 다양한 연령의 아이들과 함께 어울리고, 교실이라는 한정된 공간이 아닌 교육활동의 내용에 따라 공간을 달리하며 생활하고 있었다. 또한 A 어린이집은 교육의 공간을 아이가 흥미 있고 직접적으로 경험할 수 있는 삶의 현장인 지역사회로 확대하고 있었다. 어린이집 밖으로의 공간 확대는 나들이의 형태로 나타났는데 아이들은 나들이를 통해 본능적 활동욕구의 발산, 전감각적인 체험, 자연과 관계 맺기, 함께 또 따로 놀기, 다양한 만남 · 다양한 삶의 모습을 체험했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the children s daily life of the integrated space of an early childhood institution. A care center was chosen as the participating institution in this study. Field study and interviews with teachers were done, as well as examining various kinds of documents in the center, over 35 sessions from Jan 2, 2007 to Apr 24, 2007. All the collected data was classified and analyzed by theme. The findings of the study are as follows: In the integrated spaces of the child care center, the children were not merely confined to the classroom, but moved around in a liberal manner; mingled with different age groups; and were engaged in educational activities in different places, depending on the content of the activities. The child care center extended its educational spaces into the local community, where the children could have exciting firsthand experiences. The outside of the child care center became another place of education. We call this activity Nadleri that contributed to enlarging the educational spaces, and allowed the children to unleash their instinctive needs for action, to enrich pan-sensory experiences, to form a relationship with nature, to play alone or together, to encounter a variety of people, and to experience the diverse aspects of life.
