국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 보육교사의 자질이 갈등상황을 관리하는 특성과 어떤 관계가 있는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 연구대상으로는 325명의 서울지역의 보육교사가 참여했으며, 교사의 자질은 김지현(2007)의 측정도구로, 갈등관리 특성은 백은영(2004)의 측정도구를 각각 사용하였다. 보육교사의 갈등관리특성 중 통합은 보육교사의 자질 중 인성적 특성, 전문성, 교육기술, 및 교직태도와 유의한 상관관계가 있었고, 타협과 배려의 갈등관리 특성은 전문성, 교육기술, 및 교직태도와 상관관계가 있었으며, 갈등지배와 회피에 유의한 상관관계를 보이는 교사자질은 없었다. 갈등관리 특성 중 보육교사 자질로 예측 가능한 것은 통합, 회피, 및 타협의 특성이었으며, 갈등통합을 예측할 수 있는 교사자질의 하위요소는 인성적 특성이었고, 갈등회피와 타협을 예측할 수 있는 교사자질의 하위요소는 교육기술이었다. 그러나, 갈등배려와 지배는 교사자질로 예측될 수 없는 특성으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 보육기관에서 바람직한 갈등관리를 위해 강화되어야 교사의 자질이 무엇인지에 대한 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the current study is to investigate the relationship between the qualifications of early child education teachers and conflict management characteristics. 325 early child education teachers in Seoul participated in the research study as subjects. The early child education teachers qualifications were measured with the instrument used in Kim (2007). Conflict management characteristics were measured with the instrument used in Baik (2004). Among the conflict management styles, conflict integration and conflict consideration were based on relationships and personal characteristics, interpersonal searching skills, and teacher attitudes among teacher qualifications. No teacher qualifications were related to conflict donination and conflict avoidance. Among the conflict management styles, conflict integration, conflict avoidance, and conflict compromise were among the personal characteristics included in the sub-componsnts of teacher qualifications. Conflict avoidance and conflict compromise were among the searching skills included in the sub-components of teacher qualifications. However, conflict consideration and conflict dominance were significant characteristics in the searcher qualifications. The current study showed the importance of teacher qualifications, which should be reinforced to acquire the desirable conflict management skills.
