영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 국가영유아건강검진에 대한 인식과 제언

국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 국가영유아건강검진에 대한 인식과 제언을 살펴봄으로써 실효성 있는 영유아건강검진의 방향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 심층면담을 실시한 결과, 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들은 국가영유아건강검진이 아이의 건강과 발달을 체크해주는 반면, 과잉 우려를 양산할 수 있음을 지적하였다. 또한 건강검진을 통해 자신의 양육방식을 점검하는 기회가 되는 반면, 획일적인 양육방향으로 유도하는 것에 대해 불편함을 토로하기도 했다. 또 신뢰로운 검진기관이 있는 반면 획일화된 검진으로 비전문적이고 불친절한 기관도 있다는 점과 영유아건강검진이 영아기에 비중을 많이 두는 반면 유아동기로 갈수록 관심이 적어진다고 지적하였다. 이를 토대로 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들은 앞으로의 국가영유아건강검진이 개별 아이에게 맞춘 건강검진, 예방차원의 건강검진, 생활밀착형 건강검진, 전 생애적인 건강검진으로 나아가기를 제언하였다. 본 연구는 영유아의 건강한 삶을 지원해줄 실효성 있는 국가영유아건강검진의 방향을 모색해보고자 하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the direction for effective childhood health examinations by examining the perceptions and suggestions of mothers of infants and young children. As a result, mothers said that the national childhood health examination check the health and development of children, but it also makes people overly concerned. Additionally, they said it is a chance to check the direction of healthy childrearing but they expressed discomfort about inducing uniform parenting. In addition, mothers said that there are some unprofessional and unfriendly institutions that offer unilateral medical checkups as well as some reliable institutions, and that national childhood health examination focuses more on infants than older children. Based on this, mothers suggested that in the future the national childhood health examination should evolve into a program that offers health checkups customized for individual children, preventive health checkups, life-friendly health checkups, and whole-life health checkups. As a way to reflect on the research results, this study suggests the introduction of oriental health checkups for infants and young children and establishment of and building of an Eco-Edu System to support healthy rearing. This study is significant in that it searched for a direction for an effective national childhood health examination.
