국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 6학년을 대상으로 성찰일지 쓰기 활동이 수학 학습에 대한 과제가치 및 성취정서에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 I시 A초등학교의 6학년 2개 학급을 각각 실험집단(18명)과 통제집단(18명)으로 임의 할당하여 실험을 진행하였다. 성찰일지 쓰기 활동 도구는 과제가치 하위 4가지 요인 및 정서 관련 내용을 반영하여 구성하였으며, 실험집단에게 성찰일지 쓰기 활동을 10차시 실시하였다. 또한, 과제가치와 성취정서 검사 도구를 사용하여 사전 및 사후 검사 결과를 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성찰일지 쓰기 활동은 과제가치 향상에 긍정적 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성찰일지 쓰기 활동이 수업 상황, 공부 상황, 시험 상황의 성취정서 중 즐거움과 자부심을 유의하게 높여준 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수업 상황 및 공부 상황에서 실험집단의 지루함 정서가 통제집단에 비해 유의하게 낮아진 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 학습자가 성찰일지 쓰기 활동을 통해 자기 자신의 학습에 대한 가치와 정서를 살펴보고 자신을 표현할 수 있는 기회를 가짐으로써 자신의 문제를 인식하고 개선할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 긍정적인 과제가치와 성취정서를 함양할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한, 이러한 결과는 성찰일지 쓰기가 많은 학생들이 어려움을 갖는 수학 교과에서 효과적인 교수-학습 방법으로 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of reflective journal writing on task value and achievement emotion in math learning for 6th graders. To do this, an experimental research was conducted with two sixth-grade classrooms (each with 18 students) at A elementary school in I city, which were randomly assigned to either treatment class and control class. An instrument for reflective journal writing was developed based on four subcomponents of task value as well as emotion related content, and the reflective journal writing activities were conducted to the treatment class for 10 sessions. In addition, pre- and posttests data were collected regarding students’ task value and achievement emotion. Main results are as follows. First, the reflective journal writing activities had positive effects on the improvement of students’ task value. Second, the reflective journal writing activities significantly enhanced students’ pleasure and pride among achievement emotion in class, study, and test situations. Third, in class and study situations, students’ boredom among achievement emotion was significantly lower for the treatment class than for the control class. The results of this study showed that students were able to recognize and rectify the problems through the opportunities to reflect their own value and emotion about learning and also to express themselves in the reflective journal writing, leading to positive task value and achievement motivation. In addition, the results suggested that the reflective journal writing could be a useful instructional method for those students with difficulties in math.
