국문 초록

본 연구는 북한에 묻혀 있는 독립운동가의 현황을 분석, 연구하는 데 목적을 두었다. 북한에는 우리의 현충원과 같은 현충 시설로서 혁명열사릉과 애국열사릉이 있다. 둘 다 평양에 있는데 묻혀 있는 분들이 언제, 어떤 활동을 하였는지에 따라 안장된 장소가 구분된다. 혁명열사릉은 김일성과 함께 항일 빨치산 활동을 했거나 그와 직·간접적으로 연계를 ？？ ‘항일혁명열사’들을 안장하고자 한 것인데, 독립유공자로 서훈을 받은 최효일·최윤근 두 명이 그곳에 묻혀 있다. 애국열사릉의 독립운동가는 약력에 ‘반일애국지사’(6명), ‘애국지사’(8명), ‘항일혁명렬사’ 등으로 표기되어 있다. 그 중 독립유공자로 서훈을 받은 ‘반일애국지사’는 오동진·장철호·강제하·김보안(이명 김준택) 등 4명이며, ‘애국지사’는 6·25전쟁 당시 납북된 김규식·유동열·오하영·윤기섭·조완구·최동오·엄항섭·조소앙 등 8명이다. ‘항일혁명열사’는 모두 64위가 있지만, 독립유공자로 서훈을 받은 인사는 한 명도 없다. 그 외 양세봉은 독립군사령으로 안장되어 있고, 1986년 9월 북한으로 망명하였지만 1963년에 대통령표창을 받은 최덕신도 있다. 일제강점기에 독립운동을 펼쳤지만, 월북하였다 하여 서훈을 받지 못한 인사는 박문규·백남운·이극로·이만규·이영·허헌·홍명희 등 7명이다. 이외에 ‘재북인사의 묘’에 안치된 인사들 62위 가운데 서훈을 받은 인사는 안재홍·정인보·원세훈·박열·명제세·김상덕·장연송·김의한·장현식 등 9명이다. 이로써 북한에 묻혀 있는 독립운동가 중에서 서훈을 받은 인사는 모두 25명이다.

영문 초록

North Korea also has remembrance facilities like ours. One is the tomb of the martyrs of the revolution and the other is the tomb of the martyrs of the patriots. Both are located in Pyongyang, but the place of burial is differentiated according to when and what activities the people buried there engaged in. The tomb of the revolutionary martyrs is where the ‘anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs’ who participated in the anti-Japanese partisan activities together with Kim Il-sung or had direct or indirect links with him are buried. Among them, Hyo-il Choi and Yun-geun Choi, who were awarded the honorary title of meritorious independence, are buried here. In the tomb of patriotic martyrs, in the biographies of independence activists, ‘anti-Japanese patriots’ (6 persons), ‘patriots’ (8 persons), and ‘anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs’ are indicated. Among them, the anti-Japanese patriots who received the honorary title of merit for independence are four, including Oh Dong-jin, Jang Cheol-ho, Kang Je-ha, and Kim Bo-an (Lee Kim Jun-taek). The eight members are Oh Ha-young, Yoon Ki-seop, Jo Wan-goo, Choi Dong-oh, Eom Hang-seop, and Jo So-ang. There are a total of 64 “anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs”, but none of them have been awarded a medal of merit for independence. Yang Se-bong is buried in the tomb of the patriotic martyrs as a commander of the independence army, and there is also Choi Deok-shin, who fled to North Korea in September 1986, but received a presidential citation in 1963. Seven people, including Park Moon-gyu, Paik Nam-woon, Lee Kuk-ro, Lee Man-gyu, Lee Young, Heo Heon, and Hong Myeong-hee, did not receive an honour, even though they fought for independence during the Japanese colonial period. In addition, among the 62 persons enshrined in the Tomb of North Koreans, 9 people including Ahn Jae-hong, Jeong In-bo, Won Se-hoon, Park Yeol, Myung Je-se, Kim Sang-deok, Jang Yeon-song, Kim Ui-han, and Jang Hyun-sik received the honours. As a result, among the independence activists buried in North Korea, a total of 25 persons of merit were awarded.
