국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 알코올중독으로부터 회복을 위해 단주중인 알코올중독자들과 가족들의 가족기능 회복과정을 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해, 연구자는 2007년 8월부터 2007년 11월까지 12명의 알코올중독자들과 8명의 알코올중독자의 가족들을 만나 심층면접을 토대로 그들의 회복과정을 깊이 이해하고, 서술, 분석하였다. 연구결과 개방코딩에서는 124개의 개념과 28개의 하위범주, 11개의 범주가 도출되었다. 축코딩 패러다임에 의한 범주분석 결과, 단주중인 알코올중독자와 가족들이 경험한 가족기능 회복과정의 인과적 조건은 술맛알기 와 위험신호 , 중심현상은 공동의존에서 상호의존으로 , 이 현상에 대응하는 맥락적 조건은 가족과의 전쟁 , 구렁텅이로 빠져듦 이었다. 현상을 조절하기 위한 작용/상호작용전략은 단단한 마음 갖기 , 포부 키우기 , 용서와 받아들임 , 중재적 조건은 도움의 손길을 붙잡음 , 결과는 환골탈태 , 다시 사랑하기 로 나타났다. 연구결과에 근거하여 정책과 실천에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand alcoholics who try to stay sober based on their recovering experiences and their families experiences as well. This study mainly focuses on the recovering process, action/interaction in the alcoholics surrounding environment, and the results from the sobering process. The focal question in this study is “How has the sobering process changed the lives of the alcoholics and his or her family members?” Participants in the study have included twelve male alcoholics who have been sober for over three years and received treatments at a professional alcohol clinic and eight family members of the twelve alcoholics that have the same conditions. The collection and analysis of this data was performed based on the methodology of ‘grounded theory’ from Strauss and Corbin. The results of the study in the open coding were 124 concepts, 28 subcategories, and 11 categories. In the results of the axial coding paradigm, casual conditions of the recovering process for family function were from “knowing the taste of alcohol” to “danger signaling.” The core phenomenon was to turn “co-dependency” into “interdependency” and context conditions were “arguing with family” and “sinking into the depth of alcohol.” Action/interaction controlled concepts were “keeping strong mind,” “realizing personal dreams,” and “forgiveness and allowing.” Intervening conditions were to promote and restrain action/interaction and “getting help.” The twelve participants showed consistency in “adapting” and “to loving again”.
