교모세포종 환자 돌봄 경험에 대한 자문화기술지

국문 초록

본 연구는 자문화기술지 방법을 이용하여 교모세포종 환자의 자녀이자 보호자로서 겪은 환자돌봄 경험을 분석하고, 보호자의 경험과 정서를 이해하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 연구자인 ‘내’가 13년 3월부터 17년 10월까지 자신의 페이스북(facebook) 계정에 올린 64편의 글과 8장의 사진, 동일한 기간에 발표한 수필 8편, 환자의 진료 스케줄을 메모한 수첩을 자기성찰적으로 분석했다. 나는 환자 돌봄 동안 간병생활의 고달픔과 어머니의 건강 악화에 대한 절망감, 어머니 돌봄에 일상이 묶여버린 내 삶에 불안감을 느꼈다. 그럴수록 과거에 대한 후회와 반추를 지속했다. 어머니의 사망으로 환자돌봄은 끝이 났으나, 간병으로 멈춰있던 나의 사회적이며 일상적인 생활이 궤도에 오르기까지는 그 후로 약 3년이 걸렸다. 이상의 연구결과를 기반으로 교모세포종 보호자들을 위한 실천 방안과 논의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study based on autoethnography, analyzes the experiences of patient care and bereavement with glioblastoma patients as their children and guardians, and proposes discussions on social welfare interventions and practices. In the study, 64 Facebook posts and 8 essays, both published from March 31, 2013 to November 11, 2015, the notes of patient s treatment schedule, and the memories and feelings at that time. As glioblastoma progressed, patients suffered neurological hemiplegia and declined faculties of recognition, motion, and language, got weaken physical ability, then brain lesions. This made their guardians anxious about the patient s death. And worsening lingustic and physical ability of the patients meant their guardians should stay with them all day long. In this situation I had the feelings what the weary guardians have - despair about life, anxiety about the future, regret about the past. My daily life s been back to normal in three years since my mother passed away, and I could live for myself then. It was important but hard to regard the nursing time as ‘meaningful.’ Based on this result of the study, social welfare practices for families caring for patients serious brain-nervous system diseases like glioblastoma were proposed, and significance of this study was discussed.
