남성우울 극복과정과 비판적 - 구성적 성찰

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 남성우울 속에 가려져 있는 파괴적 기능을 파악하고 이를 극복하는 데 도움을 주고자 하는 것이다. 연구의 문제는 남성우울 극복과정과 그 의미를 파악하는 것이다. 연구의 방법론은 두 가지를 활용했다. 먼저, 분석방법으로는 질적방법론 중에 현상학적 방법론을 사용했다. 해석학적 방법으로는 제임스 폴링의 비판적-구성적 방법을 활용했다. 연구의 참여자들은 우울증 경험이 있는 남성 8명을 심층 인터뷰한 결과, 남성우울 극복경험의 단계별 과정을 확인할 수 있었다. 1단계는 잠복단계, 2단계는 폭발단계, 3단계는 갈등단계, 4단계는 극복의 단계, 그리고 5단계는 성숙의 단계이다. 결론적으로, 남성우울 극복의 핵심은 5단계에서 드러난 영성적 지향성에 있었다. 따라서 남성우울을 극복과정에 도움을 주기 위해서는 손상되어 있는 영성적 지향성을 다시 일깨워 주어야 한다.

영문 초록

This study is aimed at helping grasp destructive functions hidden in men’s depression and overcome this. Two methodologies of the study were used. First, as the analysis method, the phenomenological methodology among qualitative methodologies was used. Next, as the interpretative method, James Poling’s critical-constructive method was used. For the data of the study, the data were collected by giving a depth interview to 8 adult men with depression experiences. As the result, the essential factors of restoration experiences for men’s depression are as follows. Such structures and essentials consist of interacting patterns and procedural process of restoration experiences. The first stage is latent stage. This stage is mostly from poor childhood. The second stage is explosive stage. This stage causes the event provoking serious depression. The third stage is conflict stage. In this stage, men feel shame and quilt and suicidal impulse often, and they try to overcome depression for themselves, ask for spiritual help, and overcome suicidal impulse systematically. The fifth stage is maturity stage. This stage is to have a mind taking care of others with the same pains to their symptoms. In conclusion, social systems make men feel shame and quilt, and paralyze the function of spiritual itentionality and cause depression. Therefore, the issue of taking care of men needs to solve personal shame and awake damaged spiritual itentionality.
