도박중독자 배우자의 변화 경험에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 도박중독자와 함께 살아가는 배우자의 삶을 깊이 있게 탐구하여 그 안에서의 변화 경험과 과정을 발견하고 의미를 규명하는 것이다. 그리고 이를 통해 도박중독자 배우자의 경험을 주체적인 가치로 이해하는 새로운 관점을 제시 하고자 함이다. 본 연구의 참여자들은 스스로 삶의 변화를 경험하였다고 진술한2년 이상 단도박(斷賭博)중인 도박중독자와 함께 살아가고 있는 배우자22명이다. 연구를 위한 자료 수집 방법은 연구 참여자들과의 심층면접이며, 연구 결과 도출을 위한 자료의 분석은 현상학적 질적 연구방법을 활용하였다. 결과 분석에서는 J. B. Ashbrook의 영혼의 돌봄 메타포와 J. Prochaska의 변화단계 모델에 따른 변화촉진 과정을 재해석하여 도박중독자 배우자의 변화 경험 단계 모델을 제시하였다. 본 연 구의 결과에서는 연구 참여자들의 주제진술들을 90개의 의미단위로 구분하여24 개의 범주로 도박중독자 배우자의 ‘변화 경험 구성요소’를 도출하였다. 그리고 이24개의 ‘변화 경험 구성요소’의 과정적 의미를 재해석한 ‘변화 경험 단계 모델’을 (1) 영혼의 고통 단계, (2) 영혼의 투쟁 단계, (3) 영혼의 안정화 단계, (4) 영혼의 역량강 화 단계로 재구성하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to deeply explore the lives of current spouses of gambling addicts in order to look into their experiences, find out how their lives have changed and study its meaning. The participants of this study were twelve spouses of recovering gambling addicts, who have been living with them for more than a year and say that they themselves have experienced changes in their lives. The method of data collection for research was in–depth interviews with the participants. The data analysis method used in drawing the conclusion was phenomenological qualitative research method. For analysing the conclusion, J. B. Ashbook’s metaphor for “Minding the Soul” reinterpreted the “process of promoting change” and J. Prochaska’s model of the “stages of behaviour change” are used to present the model of “stages of experiencing change” that applies to spouses of gambling addicts. For the conclusion of this study, it is divided into the)03 theme descriptions into 90 meaning units and came up with the “elements of experiencing change,” which applies to spouses of gambling addicts and consists of)4 categories. It is a reinterpretation of the meaning that can be found in the process of the)4 categories, “elements of experiencing change”–(1) stage of suffering of the soul, (2) stage of struggle of the soul, (3) stage of stabilizing of the soul, (4) stage of empowering of the soul. In addition, This study that newly discovered and presented the meaning that the experiences undergone by the spouses of gambling addicts independently gives a challenges to contemplate on the prospect and missions of Christian Counseling.
