초등학교 교사의 미술 교과 평가 경험에 관한 해석학적 현상학 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 교사가 미술 교과 평가에서 어떠한 경험을 하는지 알아보기 위해 그들의 교육 현장에서 경험을 탐색하고 그 경험의 의미와 본질을 심층적으로 이해하고자 하는 데 목적이 있다. 초등학교 교사의 미술 교과 평가에 관한 의미와 본질을 이해하기 위해 살아 있는 경험을 지향하며 그 경험의 의미를 포함하는 현상의 본질을 밝히기 위해 반 매넌(van Manen)의 해석학적 현상학 연구 방법을 적용 하였다. 연구참여자로 미술이나 미술교육을 전공하지 않은 초등학교 교사 6명을 선 정하였다. 연구 결과 초등학교 교사의 미술 교과 평가 경험은 6개의 본질적 주제와 17개의 하위 주제로 도출되었다. 본질적 주제는 ‘미술 시간에 대한 긍정적 경험을 주기’, ‘관대한 평가’, ‘모호함과 확실함 사이’, ‘불충분한 피드백’, ‘집단지성을 활용 한 평가 설계’, ‘전문성의 한계를 넘는 책임과 노력’으로 나타났다. 초등학교 교사의 미술 교과 평가는 부족한 미술 교과 전문성을 극복하기 위한 평가에 관한 다양한 방안을 탐색하여 학생들이 미술 교과에 대해 긍정적 인식을 가질 수 있도록 하는 것으로 드러났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 초등학교 교사의 미술 교과 평가 능력에 관한 실 천적 방안과 정책 및 연구 개발의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of elementary school teachers in assessment in art education in their educational field and to understand the meaning and essence of those experiences in depth. In order to understand the meaning and essence of elementary school teachers’ assessment in art education, van Manen s hermeneutic phenomenology research method was applied to reveal the essence of the phenomenon including the meaning of the experience, aiming for a living experience. Six elementary school teachers who did not major in art or art education were selected as study participants. As a result of the study, the assessment experience of art education of elementary school teachers was derived into 6 essential themes and 17 investigated themes. Essential themes are ‘Give a positive experience of art class’, ‘Generous evaluation’, ‘Between ambiguity and certainty’, ‘Insufficient feedback’, ‘Assessment design using collective intelligence’, ‘Responsibility and effort beyond the limits of expertise’. The assessment in art education by elementary school teachers was found to enable students to have a positive perception of art education by exploring various methods of evaluation to overcome the lack of art expertise. The results of this study can be used as basic data for practical measures, policies, and R&D on the art subject evaluation ability of elementary school teachers.
