국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초·중학생들의 기후변화 태도, 탐구, 지식을 분석하는 것이다. 설문 문항은 기후변화 인식과 관련한 선행연구와 2015 개정 초중등 교육과정의 기후변화 교육내용 분석을 토대로 개발하였다. 설문 문항은 기후변화 태도, 탐구, 지식 분야별 각 15문항으로 기후변화 교육전문가와의 검토과정을 통해 수정·보완하였다. 이 연구는 서울, 경기, 인천, 제주, 부산, 광주, 대구, 대전 지역의 초·중학생을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 참여자는 학교급별로 40명 이상, 지역별 80명 이상을 기준으로 총 807명이었다. 설문 조사는 코로나19로 인해 온라인으로 실시하였다. 설문에 참여한 학급에는 연구지원금을 지급하였다. 설문 결과는 학교급 및 지역에 따라 양적 통계분석을 하였고, 지도 교사와의 면담을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초·중학생들의 기후변화에 대한 태도, 탐구, 지식에 대한 인식은 거주지와 학년군에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 초·중학생들의 기후변화에 대한 태도, 탐구, 지식은 학년군이 높아지거나 거주지에 따라 일정한 경향성을 띠지는 않았다. 셋째, 기후변화 각 분야에 대한 평균 점수는 모든 지역에서 지식 > 태도 > 탐구 순이었다. 넷째, 기후변화의 전반적인 인식은 지역에 따라 큰 차이가 있었다. 마지막으로 우리나라 모든 학생에게 평등한 기후변화의 교육경험을 줄 수 있는 관련 교육법과 교육과정이 개발되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the climate change attitude, inquiry, and knowledge of elementary and middle school students. Questionnaires were developed based on prior research on the recognition of climate change and analysis of the contents of climate change education in the 2015 revised primary and secondary curriculum. The survey questions were 15 questions each in the climate change attitude, inquiry, and knowledge, and were revised and supplemented through a review process with experts in climate change education. The study was conducted on elementary and middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Jeju, Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, and Daejeon. The study participants were based on 40 or more by school level and 80 or more by region, and a total of 807 people. The survey was conducted online due to Covid-19. Research funding was provided to the classes that participated in the survey. The results of the survey were quantitative statistical analysis of differences between school level and region and interviewed a guidance teacher. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a statistically significant difference between elementary and middle school students’ attitudes, inquiry, and knowledge of climate change according to their residence and grade group. Second, elementary and middle school students’ attitudes, investigations, and knowledge about climate change did not show a certain trend depending on the grade group or where they lived. Third, the average score for each field of climate change was knowledge > attitude > inquiry in all regions. Fourth, there was a big difference in the overall perception of climate change depending on the region. Finally, it is expected that related education laws and curriculum will be developed as soon as possible to give all Korean students an equal educational experience of climate change.
