베트남 중산층 학부모의 자녀 사교육 실태 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 베트남 중산층 학부모의 자녀 사교육 실태를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 베트남 북부와 남부 대도시 중산층 408명 학부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 남북 베트남 중산층 학부모의 자녀 사교육 실태와 이유는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 베트남 북부와 남부 대도시 중산층 학부모가 생각하는 사교육 실태에서는 개인 변인 별로 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 개인 변인들 중 사교육 참여 개수, 월평균 교육비, 사교육을 시키는 목적, 교육 기대수준은 매우 긍정적으로 나타났으며, 이어서 자녀의 사교육 결정주체, 성적이나 실력향상 기대감, 사교육 부담정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사교육을 시키는 이유는 학부모의 선호와 사교육 장점 면에서 학부모 거주지에 따른 집단 간의 유의한 차이를 확인할 수 있었는데, 학부모 선호와 사교육 장점 모두 베트남 북부의 부모들이 베트남 남부의 부모들보다 더 높게 평가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 아버지가 사기업에 다니는 경우는 자녀의 실력 향상에 대하여 더 중요하게 생각하는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 자녀 학교성적에 따라 사교육을 시키는 이유를 보면, 학부모의 선호, 사교육 장점, 학교교육에 대한 경쟁에서 성적 집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 유의한 차이를 나타낸 모든 항목에 대하여 자녀의 성적이 상위권인 경우 더 중요하다고 응답한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 베트남 중산층 학부모의 자녀 사교육 실태와 이유 분석을 통하여 현지 베트남 학부모의 자녀교육문화에 대한 이해를 도모하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 한국사회의 베트남 출신 다문화가정의 교육문화를 제대로 이해할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다는 점에서 그 의미를 찾을 수 있고 한국과 베트남 간의 국제협력이 매우 활발하기에 각국의 교육문화를 이해하는 것은 국제협력의 기초적인 자료가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of private education for children of middle-class parents in Vietnam. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 408 parents of middle-class parents in northern and southern Vietnam. First, there was a statistically significant difference for each individual variable regarding the perception of middle-class parents in the northern and southern cities of Vietnam regarding the status of private education. Among them, the number of private education participation, the average monthly cost of education, the reason for private education, and the education expectation level were perceived as very positive, followed by important perceptions about expectations for children s grades or skill improvement, and the burden of private education. Second, it can be confirmed that there is a significant difference between the groups with respect to the preference of parents and the merits of private education according to the individual background and the parents residence. It was found that both parents preference and the merits of private education were highly valued by parents in the North. It can be seen that the reason for giving private education according to the father s occupation is that the father s participation in a private company places more importance on skill improvement. There were significant differences in parents preference, advantages of private education, and competition for school education as to the reasons for providing private education according to their children s school performance. In addition, it can be seen that for all items that showed a significant difference, the response was more important when the child s grades were in the upper ranks. The purpose of this study was to help Vietnamese parents understand the education culture of their children by analyzing the actual situation and reasons for private education for children of middle-class Vietnamese parents. The meaning can be found in the fact that the international cooperation between Korea and Vietnam is very active, so understanding the educational culture of each country will be the basic data for international cooperation.
