영·유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 어린이집 부모교육에 대한 요구

국문 초록

본 연구는 어린이집 부모교육에 대한 어머니의 인식과 참여방법 및 내용에 대한 요구를 알아보기 위하여 이루어졌다. 연구대상은 D시와 S시에 소재한 어린이집에 재원하고 있는 영·유아의 어머니 209명이며, 연구의 목적을 위해 총 16문항으로 구성된 설문지가 사용되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모들은 연령별 영·유아 발달 특성에 대한 이해와 양육에 대한 전문적인 지식의 획득을 위해 부모교육이 필요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 또 부모들은 자녀에 대한 올바른 훈육방법과 부모의 역할을 잘 모를 때 자녀양육이 어렵다고 인식하고 있었고, 부모들은 자녀를 양육할 때 전문가의 조언을 가장 많이 참고하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모들이 바라는 부모교육의 적절한 횟수는 1년에 1-2번이었고, 선호하는 부모교육 유형은 전문가 초청 특강이었으며, 선호하는 강사는 부모교육 전문가로 나타났다. 또 선호하는 부모교육 외부기관으로 지원센터라는 응답이 가장 많았다. 셋째, 부모교육 내용으로 가장 필요하다고 생각되는 것은 바람직한 부모의 역할 및 훈육방법이라는 응답이 가장 많았다. 구체적인 내용으로는 부모의 감정 통제 및 일관된 훈육태도, 영·유아기 양육에 관한 지식, 자녀와 대화를 잘 하는 방법, 영·유아의 사회 및 정서 발달 등에 대한 것들이 부모교육의 내용으로 다루어지길 원했다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 부모교육 프로그램 구성의 방향에 대해서도 제시하였다.

영문 초록

In this study, we explored the status of mothers with early childhood children’s participation in parent education, how parents want to participate in parent education, and the contents of parent education. The study subjects were 209 mothers with infants attending a daycare center in D Metropolitan City. The questionnaire used in the study consisted of 16 questions. The findings are as follows; First, parents responded that parental education is necessary to understand the characteristics of infant development by age and to acquire professional knowledge about parenting. They also responded that they find it difficult to raise their children when they do not know the right way to discipline and the role of parents. Parents responded that they refer to expert advice the most when raising their children. Second, the appropriate number of parental education desired by parents was 1-2 times a year, and the preferred type of parent education was a special lecture by experts. Also, parents’ preferred instructor was a parent education expert. Third, parents most wanted the role and discipline of parents as a content of their parents’ education. Specifically, they wanted to know how parents controlled their emotions and disciplined them continuously. And they also wanted to know about child-rearing knowledge, how to communicate well with children, their social skills and emotional development. Finally, based on the results of this study, we present the direction of parent education program construction.
