국문 초록

이 논문은 아리스토텔레스가 인간을 정치적인 동물(zōion politikon)로 정의하는 구절에서 랑시에르가 문제 삼고 있는 ‘말(logos)’의 평등성으로부터 ‘감각적인 것의 나눔’의 의미를 설명하고, 감각적인 것을 새롭게 나누는 문제와 그 새로운 분할의 방법과 밀접하게 연결되어 있는 미학의 문제로 나아가면서, 랑시에르에서 감성론 혹은 감각적인 것에 관한 이론이 어떻게 미학과 정치를 연결하는지 살펴본다. 특히, 랑시에르가 『모던 타임즈: 예술과 정치에서 시간성에 관한 이론』에서 이야기하는 <카메라를 든 사나이>, <분노의 포도>, <행진하는 청춘>의 세 영화적 순간들을 살펴봄으로써, 예술의 영역에서 감각적인 것의 새로운 분할이 어떠한 방식으로 이루어질 수 있는지 구체적으로 드러낸다. 이를 통해 랑시에르가 제시하는 그 자체로 곧 정치가 되는 예술의 새로운 길을 탐구한다.

영문 초록

This paper studies the meaning of ‘the distribution of the sensible’ from the equality of ‘logos’ that Rancière is taking into issue with in the passage where Aristotle defines man as a political animal(zōion politikon). And this leads to the problem of the distribution of the sensible and the problem of aesthetics closely connected with the new method of distribution. Thereby, it examines how in Rancière, the theory of sensibility or the theory of the sensible, connects aesthetics with politics. In particular, by examining the three cinematic moments of “Man with a Movie Camera”, “The Grapes of Wrath”, and “Colossal Youth”, which Rancière exemplified in his Modern Times: Essays on Temporality in Art and Politics, it reveals concretely how a new distribution of the sensible can be made in the realm of art. It explores the new path of art that becomes politics in itself, as suggested by Rancière.
