백합화의 성경적, 식물학적 해석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 성경의 백합이 오늘날 어떠한 식물명으로 이해되고 있으며 그것이 가지는 식물학적 해석을 밝히는 것이다. 성경에서 언급되는 백합은 그것이 표기된 히브리어 원문 shushan, shoshan, 혹은 shoshannah 등에서 번역된 것이다. 지금까지 성경의 백합에 관한 다양한 연구가 있었지만 Lilium candidum이 가장 가능성 있는 이해로 받아들여지고 있다. L. candidum은 약 3,000여 년 동안 재배된 기록이 있으며 문화적으로 상징성이 큰 작물이다. L. candidum의 세포 유전학적 분석결과, 염색체는 이배체로 2n=2x=24로 1쌍의 중부동원체형, 1쌍의 차중부동원체형, 4쌍의 차단부동원체형, 6쌍의 단부동원체형으로 구성된다. FISH 분석결과, 3쌍의 45S rDNA가 3, 4, 7번 염색체에서 1쌍의 5S rDNA가 3번 염색체에서 관찰되었다. 본 연구는 백합이라는 주제로 신학적, 자연 과학적으로 해석을 통해 상호소통을 이루고자 하는 연구이다. 자연과학적 연구는 하나님이 주신 창조세계에 관한 탐구를 하는 것이며, 이를 기본으로 신학에서의 의미를 해석하는 것은 저자의 의도를 잘 파악하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify what name the lily of the Bible is understood today and to understand its botanical interpretation. The lily referred to in the Bible is translated from the Hebrew words shushan, shoshan, or sֹhoshannah. There have been various studies of lily in the Bible so far, but L. candidum is considered the most reasonable. L. candidum is a lily belonging to the Lilium section. It has been cultivated for about 3,000 years from antiquity and has valuable symbols in many cultures. Cytogenetic analysis in L. candidum showed that its chromosomes were diploid (2n=2x=24) with 1 pair of metacentric, 1 pair of submetacentric, 4 pairs of subtelocentrics, and 6 pairs of telocentrics. Results of the FISH analysis showed three pairs of 45S rDNA that were observed on chromosome 3, 4, and 7 and one pair of 5S rDNA on chromosome 3. This study aims to achieve mutual communication through interpretation in theological and natural sciences under the theme of lily. Natural science research is an exploration of the life God has given to this earth, and interpreting the meaning in theology based on this will help to grasp the author s intentions well.
