시청각장애학생 지도에 관한 초임 특수교사의 기억 환기를 통한 생애

국문 초록

이 연구는 연구자가 초임 특수교사 발령과 함께 만난 시청각장애학생 지도 경험을 기억 환기를 통하여 기술하는 생애사 방법으로 수행되었다. 시청각장애학생은 중학교 2학년이었으며, 3세경에 청각장애로 진단되었다. 청각장애학교에 입학하였으나, 초등학교 3학년부터 시력이 급격하게 나빠지면서 시각장애도 수반하게 되었다. 수어로 기본적인 표현은 가능하며, 교사의 수어를 감각적으로 이해할 수 있으나, 고등사고기능을 요구하는 의사소통은 수어로 한계가 있었다. 연구자가 시청각장애학생과의 수업 과정에서 느꼈던 기억의 주요 구성요소는 준비되지 않은 만남, 교수와 학습의 불일치, 무력한 경험의 연속, 새로운 발전과 각오, 회한의 기억 등과 같이 5개로 나타났다. 5개 구성요소에 대한 13개 하위 구성요소는 41개의 전환된 의미 단위로 분석되었다. 이 연구에서는 시청각장애학생을 지도하는 특수교사의 교직 수행능력이 긍정적으로 발달하고 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted as a life history method through memory recall of the experiences that the researcher felt while instructing deafblindness student whom he met while being appointed as a beginner special school teacher. The deafblindness student was in the second year of middle school, and was diagnosed with hearing impairment around the age of 3 years. She entered a school for the hearing impairment, but from the third grade of elementary school, her eyesight deteriorated sharply, resulting in visual impairment. Basic expression in sign language is possible, and the teacher s sign language can be sensibly understood, but communication that requires advanced thinking skills was not possible even in sign language. The main components of the memory that the researcher felt in the course of the class with the deafblindness student was unprepared encounters, inconsistency between teaching and learning, a series of helpless experiences, new development and determination, and memories of regret. The 13 sub-elements for the five elements were analyzed into 41 converted semantic units. This study suggests that the ability of special teachers to teach students with hearing and vision disabilities is developing positively.
