초등학교 고학년 색채인식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

초등학교 고학년 정도의 학생들은 정형화된 색채도식에서 벗어나 주관적 반응과 변화하는 색채에 민감해지는 시기이다. 이 때 학생들의 색채심리와 과거 경험의 축척된 색채심리를 통해 선호하는 색채를 선택하고, 생활주변의 각종 사물을 색채로 상징하여 나타내며, 주위사람들에게서 느끼는 인상과 일상생활에서 개인적 정서적으로 느끼는 반응을 연상하게 한 뒤 색채로 표현하게 하고 그들의 색채인식이 어떻게 나타나는지를 알아보기 위해 설문·분석하는 게 본 연구의 목적이었다. 연구대상은 대구광역시 몇 개의 초등학교를 선정하여 5학년 500여명을 대상으로 하였고, 각 문항에다 응답한 수를 기준으로 하여 정리하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 선호하는 색·색의 느낌과 상징성 조사·주위환경에서 느끼는 색의 상징성 등을 내용으로 설문하여 빈도(%)를 제시하여 분석하였다.그 결과 이 시기 학생들의 색채선호도와 선택사유는 자연적 고유색과 단편적이고 편협된 색채인식에서 벗어나지 못하며, 인상적이고 창조적인 색채사용능력이 부족한 편으로 드러났다. 또 초등학교 색상지도에서 청록, 남색, 자주색 등이 생활 주변에서 활용도가 떨어지며 그다지 인식하지 못하고 있음을 볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

There comes a time for high graders in elementary school when they subjectively respond to and become sensitive to changing patterns in color, breaking away from standardized color diagrams which they have previously been accustomed to. At this time, they choose their favored colors on the basis of their accumulated color psychology and past experiences, and present various objects around their daily lives by means of color. Against this backdrop, it is the aim of this research to find out how their color recognition surfaces. To this end, the students are led to express their thoughts in colors, which come from their impressions about people around them and from their emotional feelings in daily lives. 500 fifth graders from a few designated elementary schools in Taegu were selected for this research. Their answers to each question were counted in for analysis and conclusion. A percentage(%)-based questionnaire was used, in which items such as what their favored colors were, how they felt about colors, what the colors meant for them and what color symbolisms they drew from their contacts with colors in surroundings. The result shows that the students still remain within the frames of local color and that their color recognitions have a long way to go as they are still fragmented and illiberal. Besides, they are also found to lag behind in their abilities to use colors impressively and creatively. It is also noticeable that colors such as bluish green, indigo blue and purple are less utilized and recognized than desired in our daily lives.
