국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘아동의 수준’과 ‘문제해결학습’의 관점에서 초등미술교과서에 나타난 디자인의 특성을 분석하는 것이 목적이다. 연구 내용은 2014년에 발행된 3-4학년 초등미술교과서 7종에 나타난 디자인의 단원을 중심으로, 교과서 및 지도서에 나타난 교수-학습 활동을 분석했다. 연구 결과는 크게 2가지의 특성으로 나타났다. 하나는 대부분의 디자인의 교수-학습 활동이 표현활동을 중시한 내용이었다는 점이다. 즉 작품 제작을 위해 표현활동을 중시한 타 분야처럼, 디자인의 교수-학습 활동도 그러한 경향이강했다. 여기에는 ‘문제’를 찾고, 그 ‘문제를 해결해 가는’ 일관된 교수-학습의 과정이보이지 않았다. 또 하나는 소수의 단원에는 문제해결을 위한 디자인 프로세스에 맞는교수-학습 과정이 제시되어 있었다는 점이다. 여기에는 디자인 본래의 특성인 문제해결을 위한 디자인 프로세스에 따라, 초등아동이 문제(필요성)를 찾고 그 문제를 해결해가는 교수-학습의 과정이 제시되었다. 교과서에는 두 개의 관점이 상호 존재하였지만, 비중으로 볼 때, 전자의 경우가 크게 많았다. 이는 우리나라 초등디자인이 문제해결을 위한 디자인 프로세스보다, 작품을 제작하기 위한 표현활동을 보다 더 중시하는특성을 가졌다는 것이다. 향후 초등아동의 ‘문제해결능력’을 함양하기 위해서는 디자인프로세스에 따른 교수-학습의 과정을 중시하는 관점이 필요하다.

영문 초록

We attempt to look into the characteristics of the design units in Arttextbooks of Elementary School with the perspective of ‘problem solvinglearning’ and ‘level of children.’ The subjects of this study are the units ofdesign shown in 7 types of the art textbooks for the 3-4 graders of which theteaching-learning activities and manual of teachers are focused on. Main results of our study can be summarized as followings: First, we havefound that design teaching-learning activities are introduced in most of thetext books to improve students’ expression capability. The reason is thatexpression activities are considered crucial for making works of art as otherart areas. This is resonable there is no teaching and learning processes forsolving and finding the problems. Second, we have found that just only a fewof units in the textbooks appear the teaching-learning design process forproblem solving. Teaching-learning processes for problem solving might benecessary for helping children to solve themselves the problems in that thedesign process in nature is useful for solving problems. we have found that most of the textbooks contain the design teachinglearningprocesses units for making works but do not problem-solving units. The reason might be that most of elementary art textbooks consider theexpression activity of the design than develop of problem solving activity. Inthis respect, we assert that improving processes of teaching-learning forVol. 39- 118 -design s problem solving are crucial for developing problem solving capabilityof children.
