국문 초록

다문화학생들은 구어 구사능력의 어려움뿐만 아니라 학령기에 이르게 되면 읽기와 관련된 어려움에 부딪히게 된다. 읽기는 모든 학습의 기본 능력일 뿐만 아니라 아동의 성장 과정에 있어 지적, 정서, 사회성 등의 발달에 영향을 주는 매우 중요한 기능이라 할 수 있다. 읽기는 아동이 사회적 환경과 상호작용하기 위하여 필요한 기초적인 기술 중의 하나이다. 그러나 이중언어에 노출되어 있는 다문화학생들은 읽기를 하는 데 있어 어려움을 겪는다. 이것은 그들이 음운처리를 하는 과정에서 갖는 결함에 의한 문제 때문이다. 따라서 다문화학생이 갖는 위험 요소인 음운처리과정을 초기에 평가하여 구어문제와 함께 중재할 수 있다면 다문화학생들이 이중적인 언어에서 겪는 읽기의 어려움에서 어느 정도 벗어나지 않을까 하는 희망에서 이 연구를 하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Designing and Implementing an Phonological Processing Test(DIPPT) for Literacy Screening Protocol: Suggestions for the communication disorders in multicultural students Wha-Soo, Kim The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASLHA) asserted that speech language pathologists can and should play an important role in promoting literacy for multicultural students with communication disorders. Early literacy skills development screening can be used as a useful tool for language pathologists to detect the difficulty of literacy achievement in multicultural students in a timely manner. Several studies have examined the relation between multicultural students of ability to bring to phonological awareness of words and multicultural students of reading acquisition ability. In general, the finding has been that multicultural studentswith difficulties in phonological processing will have difficulties in learning to read. Thus, skills in phonological processing are found to be good predictors of successful early reading performance. Therefore, in this study, several researches to reading skills development, reading, and phonological processing was reviewed. Also, phonological processing test was developed for the multicultural students with speech-language disorder. It provides a direction for speech language pathologists in literacy and language skills development screening, 2Bi education, especially to multicultural students with communication impairments.
