2015 개정 중학교 가정 교과서 지속가능발전교육(ESD) 연관성 및 탐구 성향 분석: ‘청소년기의 소비생활’ 단원을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 2015 개정 중학교 가정 교과서의 ‘청소년기의 소비생활 단원을 지속가능한 발전(ESD)의 측면에서 분석해 ESD와의연관성을 찾고, Romey 분석을 통해 ‘청소년기의 소비생활’ 단원의 탐구 성향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 선행연구에서 사용된ESD와 관련된 평가 기준을 정리하여 환경적 관점(천연자원, 기후변화/재해예방 및 완화, 지속가능한 농촌과 도시), 경제적 관점(기업의 지속가능성, 시장경제, 빈부격차 완화), 사회⋅문화적 관점(인권/평화/인간보호, 문화적 다양성과 이해, 건강/안전, 시민참여,국가경영)으로 11개의 핵심 내용을 가진 분석틀을 설정하였다. 설정한 분석틀을 바탕으로 중학교 가정 교과서 12종의 ‘청소년기의소비생활’ 단원의 학습 내용을 분석하였고, Romey의 탐구적 교과서 분석방법에 따라 본문문장, 사진⋅삽화⋅표⋅그래프, 활동과제를 분석하였다. 분석결과 경제적 관점의 ‘시장경제’, ‘국가경영’의 핵심 요소를 모든 교과서가 본문문장, 사진⋅삽화⋅표⋅그래프, 활동과제의 3가지 형태로 다양하게 제시하고 있었으나, 건강/안전, 시민참여, 지속가능한 농촌과 도시, 기업의 지속가능성핵심 내용의 내용 요소는 상대적으로 부족해 ESD의 다양한 내용을 다루는 교과서 개발이 필요한 것으로 보았다. 또한 Romey분석 결과 대부분의 교과서에서 본문문장, 사진⋅삽화⋅표⋅그래프는 권위적 성향으로, 활동과제의 경우 탐구적 성향으로 나타났다. 청소년들의 지속가능한 발전을 위한 소비 가치관 형성과 행동 실천을 위해 보다 다양한 ESD 관련 내용을 가정과 수업에반영하고, 탐구적 성향의 학습활동을 수업에 창의적으로 활용할 필요가 있다. 또한 가정과 ESD 수업 모델을 개발해 가정과교육 현장에서 실천하여 효과를 살펴볼 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This research aims to identify the relevance of ‘Adolescence consumption’ units to ESD(Education for Sustainable Development),and to analyze the unit s inquiry tendency through the Romey analysis method. The assessment criteria in association with ESDdeveloped in the previous literature were summarized and established to set up an analysis framework consisted of 11 key pointsincluding environmental perspective (natural resources, climate change/disaster prevention and mitigation, and sustainable ruraland urban systems), economic perspective (corporate sustainability, market economy, and poverty gap mitigation), and socio-culturalperspective (human rights/peace/human protection, cultural diversity and understanding, health/safety, civic engagement, and managementof nation). With this framework, the learning contents of ‘adolescence consumption life’ unit in twelve middle school Home Economicstextbooks were analyzed including the texts, images/illustrations/tables/graphs, and activities. The analysis revealed that the core elementsof the ‘market economy’ and ‘management of nation’ from the economic perspective were presented in three different formats: texts,images/illustrations/tables/graphs, and activities. However, relatively insufficient contents were presented in terms of health/safety,civic engagement, sustainable rural and urban systems, and corporate sustainability, and thus, development of textbooks dealingwith various ESD contents is neededrecommended. Additionally, most textbooks’ texts and images/illustrations/tables/graphs tendto be authoritative, while activities and assignments exhibited an inquiry tendency. It is advisable to incorporate a wider varietyof ESD-related content in Home Economics classes and creatively employ inquiry-based learning activities for the developmentof pro-sustainable-development consumption values and behavioral tendencies among young students.
