초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준에 따른 지원방안 논의

국문 초록

다문화사회로의 진입에 따라 초등학교에 다양한 이주배경의 학생이 늘어나 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행역량이 중요한 이슈가 되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준 실태와 지원방안에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구문제는 첫째, ‘초등교사의 다문화교육과정에 대한 실행수준은 어떠한가?’, 둘째, ‘초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준에 따른 지원방안은 무엇인가?’로 정하였다. 그리고 계량적인 연구를 위하여 초등교사 175명을 대상으로 관심기반 실행모형 척도 설문지를 활용하여 조사하였다. 조사결과, 첫째, 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준을 0~7수준으로 나눈다는 조건 하에서 평균 2.37로 나타났다. 즉, 초등교사들은 관심기반 실행모형 척도 기준상 중간수준(3.5)에도 못 미치는 실행수준을 보이고 있었다. 둘째, 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준을 판별한 결과, 0수준(55명, 31.43%)의 비율이 가장 높았고 그 다음으로 3수준(54명, 30.86%), 4수준(46명, 26.29%) 순으로 나타났다. 특이사항은 1수준(3.43%), 2수준(3.43%), 5수준(1.14%), 6수준(1.14%), 7수준(2.29%)의 비율은 상당히 낮았다는 점이다. 분석 결과에 따라 초등학교 교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준 향상을 위한 지원방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준 현황을 보다 실증적인 방법을 통해 파악하여 다각도에서 지원방안을 모색하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 지원방안이 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 실행수준 향상에 일조할 수 있기를 기대해본다.

영문 초록

As it is becoming a multicultural society, students with diverse backgrounds of immigration increased in elementary school, and the execution capacity of multicultural curriculum of elementary school teachers became an important issue. Hence this study examined the status and support plan of multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers. The subjects of the research are, firstly, How is the elementary school teachers multicultural curriculum performance level? ‘and secondly,’ What is the support plan based on the elementary school teachers multicultural curriculum performance level? For quantitative research, a survey was conducted of 175 elementary school teachers using the Concerns-Based Adoption Model scale. The result of the survey, showed first, in the scale of 0-7 on the the multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers, the average was 2.37. In other words, elementary school teachers showed the performance level below the intermediate level (3.5) on the basis of the Concerns-Based Adoption Model scale. Second, in the assessment on the multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers, the percentage was at the highest in level 0 (55, 31.43%), followed by level 3 (54, 30.86%) and level 4 (46, 26.29%). What’s catching the attention was that the ratio was significantly lower in Level 1 (3.43%), Level 2 (3.43%), Level 5 (1.14%), Level 6 (1.14%) and Level 7 (2.29%). Based on the results of the analysis, support plan for improving the multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers was presented. This study is meaningful in that it examined the current situation of multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers through more empirical methods and explored support plans from various angles. It is expected that the support plan proposed in this study can help improve the multicultural curriculum performance level of elementary school teachers.
