국문 초록

동아시아공동체는 실현가능한 것인가? 동아시아의 국가들은 다층적이고 복합적으로 얽혀 다양한 갈등을 겪고 있으며, 점점 더 관계가 악화되는 것처럼 보이기도 한다. 그러나 세계화로 인한 상호의존, 인류가 당면한 문제해결을 위하여 배타성을 극복하고 포용적이고 수용적인 방향으로 나가는 노력이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 기존의 경계를 완화하고 다중적이고 복합적인 정체성 형성을 위한 교육적 방안을 탐색하였다. 동아시아, 특히 한·일 평화와 교류의 역사라는 의미를 가진 조선통신사 기억의 장소를 중심으로 트랜스문화학습을 시도하였다. 횡단과 연결에 관심을 두는 트랜스문화는 국민국가라는 경계를 넘어 동아시아공동체 형성을 위한 문화학습의 방법이 된다. 일차적으로 조선통신사 기항지 중 하나인 우시마도에서 다양한 자료와 개인의 기억들을 중심으로 교재개발을 하고 한국과 일본의 초등학교에서 수업을 계획-실행-반성-다시 계획하는 실행연구를 하였다. 첫 번째 실행에서 국가 중심의 단일한 서사를 넘고 다양한 관점에서 조선통신사를 바라보는 수업을 계획하였으나 학생들은 ‘국가’를 더 강하게 느끼는 양상을 보이기도 하였다. 이에 두 번째 실행에서는 가라코오도리라는 소재를 통해 ‘국가’와 ‘문화’를 조금 느슨하게 볼 수 있는 수업을 시도하였다. 이 수업에서 학생들은 국가=문화라는 인식에 ‘헷갈림’을 경험하며 문화가 무엇인지 다시 생각하는 기회가 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 경계와 벽을 단시간에 완화하는 것은 어려운 일이지만 문화를 가로지르는 경험을 통해서 수용적이고 개방적인 정체성이 형성되어 간다면 동아시아공동체도 상상 가능한 미래가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Is the East Asian Community feasible? Countries in East Asia are experiencing multiple conflicts in a multi-layered and complex way, and it seems that the relationship is getting worse. However, it is necessary to overcome the exclusivity and move toward an inclusive and receptive direction in order to face the interdependence caused by globalization. To this end, I explored educational method to cross the boundaries and form multiple and complex identities. Joseon Tongsinsa, symbolize the history of peace and exchange in the East Asian region, especially between Korea and Japan. I did an action research in education centering on the place of memory of the Joseon Tongsinsa. Transculture, which focuses on crossing the border of a nation-state and connection, becomes a method of cultural learning to form an East Asian community. First, I developed a lesson plan by collecting various narratives and personal memories in Ushimado, one of the port destinations of Joseon Tongsinsa. And repeated to plan-action-reflect-replan the lesson in elementary schools in Korea and Japan. In the first practice, I planned a lesson that survey beyond the single narrative centered on the nation and looked at Joseon Tongsinsa from various perspectives, but some students still showed a strong feeling of ‘the nation’. Therefore, in the second practice, I tried a class in which student could loosen the connection between ‘Nation’ and ‘Culture’ through ‘Karako-Odori’. In this lesson, students experienced a little ‘confusing’ in the perception of the nation=culture, and had a chance to rethink what culture is. It is difficult to loosen the borders and boundaries in a short time, but the East Asian Community will become an imaginable future if an open identity is formed through experiences across cultures.
