다층자료에서 경향점수 활용 방법에 따른 처치효과 추정치 양호도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 2수준 다층자료의 상위수준에서 처치가 발생한 경우에 경향점수 활용 방법(2단계대응 가중치 결합 방법, 역 확률 가중치, 대응)의 적용이 안정적으로 처치효과를 추정하는지 확인하고자 모의실험 연구를 실시하였다. 모의실험 연구를 위한 모의자료 조건은 1:3, 1:1의 처치- 통제집단 사례수의 비율, 50, 100의 집단 수와 20, 40, 50의 집단 크기를 고려하였다. 본 연구의주요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 집단 간 동등성 정도를 진단하기 위한 표준화 차이 계수를 분석한 결과, 모든 모의실험 조건 하에서 2단계 대응 가중치 결합 방법이 역 확률 가중치 방법과대응 방법에 비해 상대적으로 작은 표준화 차이 계수를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 효율성을 평가하는 평균제곱오차의 분석 결과에 의하면 모든 모의실험 조건에서 2단계 대응 가중치 결합 방법의 평균제곱오차가 역 확률 가중치와 대응 방법의 평균제곱오차 보다 작은 것으로 나타나 2단계 대응 가중치 결합 방법의 효율성이 더 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 상대적 표준오차의경우에서도 모든 모의실험 조건에서 2단계 대응 가중치 결합 방법이 역 확률 가중치와 대응 방법에 비해 효율성이 높음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구결과를 고려할 때, 2수준 다층자료의 상위수준에서 처치가 발생한 경우에는 보편적으로 사용되고 있던 역 확률 가중치와 대응방법보다는 다층자료 특성을 반영한 2단계 대응 가중치 결합 방법을 적용하는 것이 보다 안정적인 처치효과를 추정하게 된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the propensity score method on the treatment effect estimates, when the treatment effects were estimated using propensity scores for multievel data structure. This simulation study was conducted for treatments occurring at the school level (level 2) to analyze the quality of treatment effect estimations for the three implementation of propensity score methods(two-stage matching/weighting combination method, inverse probability of treatment weighting method, and matching method). The ratios of treatment to control group members (1:3, 1:1), the number of groups (50, 100), and the average group sizes (20, 40, 50) were considered in the simulation conditions. The findings were as follows. Across all conditions, the standardized mean difference was relatively smaller in two-stage matching/weighting combination method, compared to the inverse probability of treatment weighting method and matching method which have been more popularly used. Further, the mean squared error was smaller when the two-stage matching/weighting combination method was used rather than the two other methods was. As for the relative standard error results, the two-stage matching/weighting combination method also had a higher efficiency than the inverse probability of treatment weighting method and matching method. Across all conditions, the selection of two-stage matching/weighting combination method in multilevel data structure was supported.
