특수학교에서 발생한 아동학대 신고사건에 대한 내러티브 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 오늘날 논란이 되기 쉬운 아동학대신고의무에 대한 특수교육 교사와 학부모의 인식을 알아보고자, 특수학교에서 실제로 일어난 아동학대 신고사건을 둘러싼 교육 관련 주체들의 내러티브를 수집·분석한 것이다. 연구참여자는 교사와 해당 학생의 어머니를 포함한 5명이었으며, 면담녹음 후 전사하거나 기록한 자료들은 Clandinin과 Murphy가 소개한 내러티브에 대한 분석을 이용하여 결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과 지적장애 특수학교의 재학생들이 보이는 문제행동은 상시적이며 이에 대한 특수교육 교사의 문제행동 중재는 꼭 필요한 것인데 반해, 이에 대한 부적절한 대처로 문제행동 중재가 아동학대로 오인될 수 있었다. 특히 오늘날은 학교폭력 발생 방지 및 장애아동의 인권 보호의 차원에서 신고의무가 강조되는 사회적 분위기로 인해 학교의 교육적 방임 및 특수교육 교사의 방어적 교육 태도마저 조장되고 있음을 교사와 학부모 모두 염려하고 있었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 특수학교 교사의 전문성 강화와 함께 교사와 학부모의 신뢰, 협력을 다질 수 있는 협의문화 조성, 이에 대한 제도적 조치로서 긍정적 행동지원 위원회, 긍정적 행동지원 중재 매뉴얼에 학부모-교사의 문제행동 대처 합의서 등을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

In order to recognize the awareness of special education teachers and parents about child abuse complaints that are likely to be controversial today, this study is based on the collection and analysis of narratives surrounding the reporting of child abuse in special schools. There were five participants in the study, including a teacher and the student s mother, and the materials recorded after the interview were derived using an analysis of narratives introduced by Brandin and Murphy. The research found that the students with intellectual disabilities were always active, and the teacher s intervention in the problem behavior was necessary, while the intervention of the problem behavior was mistaken for child abuse due to inappropriate treatment. Teachers and parents were especially concerned that the social atmosphere where reporting is emphasized in order to prevent the occurrence of school violence and protect the human rights of disabled children is also encouraging the school s educational neglect. On the basis of the research results, the special school teachers expertise was strengthened, the creation of a consultative culture to strengthen the trust of teachers and parents, and the establishment of a cooperative culture, the positive action support committee, and the agreement to deal with the problem behavior of parents and teachers were discussed in the arbitration manual.
