중학교 기술 · 가정 교과의 실험 · 실습 운영에 관한 학습자 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 제 7차 교육과정에 의해 통합된 중학교 「기술 · 가정」 교과에 대한 학습자의 흥미도와 실험 · 실습의 가치 또는 중요성과 실생활 활용도 등에 대한 학습자 인식을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 「기술 · 가정」 교과에 대한 흥미도는 성별에 따라 차이가 있었다. 「기술 · 가정」 교과에 대해서는 여학생들이 남학생들보다 더 많은 흥미를 보였으나, 영역별로 보면 가정영역에서는 성차가 없었으나, 기술영역에서는 남학생들이 여학생들보다 흥미도가 더 높았다. 학습자들은 「기술 · 가정」 교과의 내용 이해나 동기 유발을 위해 실험 · 실습의 중요성을 인식하고 있었고 그에 비해 운영되는 실험 · 실습의 양에 관해서는 부족함을 보고하였다. 「기술 · 가정」 교과의 실험 · 실습의 중요도를 높게 인식할수록 실생활에서의 활용도도 높게 나타났다. 특히, 학습자가 활용도를 가장 높게 인식한 단원은 타 단원에 비해 청소년의 영양과 식사’, 컴퓨터와 정보처리’였으며, 활용도를 가장 낮게 인식한 단원은 주로 자원관리와 환경’, 제도의 기초’와 기계의 이해’로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 기술 · 가정 교과에 대한 학습자의 흥미도와 실생활에서의 활용도를 높이기 위해서, 실험 · 실습의 중요성을 부각시키되 학습자의 성별에 따른 단원별 활용도에서 인식 차이를 고려한 실험 · 실습의 운영 방안이 강구되어야 함을 시사해준다.

영문 초록

This study was to investigate the perception of middle school students on the management of the curriculum 「Technology · Home Economics」 according to the 7th National Curriculum. The subjects were 494 third grade students from middle schools located in Seoul, in order to inquire into their perceptions through the questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed with the descriptive statistics, Pearson Chi-Square, t-test, and one-way ANOVA by SPSS Win ver. 12.0 program. The major findings were as follows: Firstly there were gender differences on the interests for the subject of 「Technology · Home Economics」. The girls who were interested in the subject were much more numerous than the boys, but only in the technology part of it, the boys were more interested than the girls. Secondly the students recognized that the experiment & practice for learning 「Technology · Home Economics」 was important. They, however, recognized that its operation in school was not enough to understand the contents. The higher a student viewed the importance of the experiment & practice on 「Technology · Home Economics」, the higher his perception of its usefulness in real life. Thirdly the highest ranking of its usefulness for the contents of the subject 「Technology · Home Economics」 was identified as the Computer and Information Processing’ and the Nutrients and Diet in Adolescence’. These findings suggest that the importance of the experiment & practice was enhanced and the gender differences on the usefulness of the experiment & practice on the each units were considered in order to increase the degree of the students interest and usefulness of the 「Technology · Home Economics」.
