간학문적 연구절차를 적용한 지속가능발전 문제해결 수업의 설계와 대학교 교양수업에의 적용 효과

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 간학문적 연구절차를 적용한 문제해결 수업을 설계하고 이를 대학 교양수업에 적용하여 그 효과를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 간학문적 주제로서 지속가능발전을 선정하고, Repko & Szostak(2016)가 제안한 간학문적 연구절차(Interdisciplinary Research Process, IRP)를 수정하여 ‘문제 정의 및 연구문제 진술 , ‘문헌연구와 유관학문 확인 , ‘각 학문 관점에서의 문제분석 , ‘포괄적 이해의 구성 , ‘반성, 검증, 의사소통 및 개선 의 5단계로 구성된 지속가능발전 문제해결 수업을 설계하였다. 경기도 소재 사립대학에 재학 중인 1학년 학생 82명을 대상으로 한 학기 동안 설계한 수업과정에 따라 교양강좌를 운영하였다. 학생들의 활동 결과물을 수집하여 단계별 유형과 특성을 분석하였고, 세계시민의식과 융합 태도 검사 도구를 이용하여 수업 전후 학생들의 의식과 태도 변화를 탐색하였다. 연구결과 학생들은 지속가능발전 목표 중, ’양질의 교육’과 ‘불평등 완화’에 대해 높은 관심을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 학생들은 문제와 관련된 요인을 시각화하는 과정에서 선형적 인과관계에 집중하는 경향을 보였으며, 포괄적 이해의 구성 단계에서는 다중 원인적 통합을 주로 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 세계시민의식의 하위범주 중 글로벌 역량, 융합 태도의 하위범주 중 심미적 감성과 교과융합에 대한 의지가 유의미하게 향상되었다. 연구결과를 토대로 간학문적 교육의 실행을 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to design the sustainable development problem-solving course adopting interdisciplinary research process and to explore the effects by implementing on liberal art courses. For the purposes, sustainable development was chosen as the interdisciplinary theme. Revising the Interdisciplinary Research Process (IRP) suggested by Repko & Szostak (2016), five step-teaching strategies were designed: 1) Define the problem and state the research question, 2)Conduct literature review and identify relevant discipline, 3) Analyze the problem by discipline s perspective, 4) Build a more comprehensive understanding, and 5)Introspect test, communicate the understanding and make improvement. The course was implemented to students in one private university located in Gyeonggi-do. All of the students’ activities during the course were collected for analysis. The students took global citizenship and convergence attitude test before and after the course. The results were as follows. The students had special interests in ‘quality education’ and ‘reduced inequalities’ among Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The students tended to adopt linear relationship between the variables in the problem analysis map, and frequently used multiple causality integration in the process of constructing a comprehensive understanding. There was a statistically significant improvement in the ‘global competence’, one of the sub-categories of global citizenship. Two sub-categories of convergence attitude, ‘aesthetic sensitivity’ and ‘willingness to integrate disciplines’, also showed significant improvement. Based on the results, discussion on the implications for interdisciplinary education were conducted.
