한국판 어머니 자녀양육감정척도의 타당화

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 Luthar와 Ciciolla(2016)가 미국 고학력 어머니들을 대상으로 자녀양육에서 오는 감정을 알아보기 위해 사용한 자녀양육경험(Parenting Experiences) 척도를 번안, 역번역 검증과정을 통하여 한국 어머니를 대상으로 하는 자녀양육감정척도로 타당화하기 위한 목적으로 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 대상은 임의적으로 표집된 수도권 및 강원도 내 중·소도시 소재 자녀를 둔 어머니 255명이다. 조사방법으로는 KSDC(Korean Social Science Data Center) DB 시스템 내 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS와 AMOS를 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 자료로 상관계수 행렬이 사용되었으며 모수 추정을 위해 최대우도법과 사각회전이 적용되었다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 한국판 어머니의 자녀양육감정척도는 원척도와 같은 양육만족감, 양육죄책감, 그리고 양육역할 부담감의 3요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 확인적 요인분석 결과, 양육죄책감의 2개 문항을 제외하고 수렴타당도 및 판별타당도를 만족하였다. 마지막으로, 한국판 자녀양육감정척도와 우울감, 스트레스, 삶의 만족감 요인 간의 상관을 통해 이 척도의 준거타당도를 확인하였으며, 척도의 신뢰도도 매우 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결론을 토대로 볼 때, 한국판 어머니의 자녀양육감정척도는 타당도와 신뢰도가 확보된 도구임을 확인하였고 한국 어머니의 감정관련 여러 변인들 간의 관계 및 영향을 다루는 후속연구를 위한 기초 도구로 유용할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to validate the Parenting Emotion Scale for mothers in Korea, to confirm the sub-constituent factors of the Scale, and to propose the Scale as a fundamental measure in the subsequent studies relating to mothers’ emotions. The scale was translated and composed from the Parenting Experience Scale of Luthar and Ciciolla(2015). They had applied the Parenting Experience Scale to their subjects(well educated mothers) to examine what it feels like to be a mother in parenting their children. The subjects of this study were 255 mothers randomly sampled in metropolitan areas, urban and rural areas in Gangwon Province. This was an online-based study in the KSDC(Korean Social Science Data Center)-DB system. The data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. The covariance matrix of measures was used as data for analysis, and a maximum likelihood method and direct oblimin were applied for estimating the parameters. The findings of the study are as follows. First, exploratory factor analysis showed that this scale has the same three factors(parenting guilt, parenting satisfaction, parenting role overload) as Luthar and Ciciolla’s (2015). Second, as a result of confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity and discriminant validity were satisfactory except two items of parenting guilt. Finally, this scale confirmed criterion-related validity(depression, stress, and life satisfaction) and the internal consistency and factors of inter-item correlation of the Scale demonstrated satisfactory reliability. As a result of the above, this study proved that the Parenting Emotion Scale can be a reliable and valid scale for assessment of parenting emotion for mothers in Korea.
