은유를 통해 본 예비유아교사의 다문화유아에 대한 인식과 관점

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사들의 다문화유아에 대한 인식과 관점을 살펴봄으로써 다문화교사교육과정의 개발과 유아 다문화교육과정 실천을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기 지역에 소재한 대학에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 149명을 대상으로 다문화유아에 대한 은유 표현 자료를 수집했다. 예비유아교사들의 다문화유아에 대한 인식과 관점을 분석한 결과 다문화유아에 대한 관점은 개인 역량 관점, 집단 구분 관점, 사회 통합 관점으로 나타났다. 각 관점에 따른 인식은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비유아교사들은 개인 역량 관점에서 다문화유아를 특별한 능력을 소유한 유아, 배려와 도움이 필요한 유아로 인식하였다. 둘째, 예비유아교사들은 집단 구분 관점에서 다문화유아를 비다문화유아와 같은 유아와 다른 유아로 인식하였다. 마지막으로 이들은 사회 통합 관점에서 다문화유아들을 사회구성원들과 조화를 이루어야 할 존재, 사회 발전에 기여하는 존재로 인식했다. 이러한 결과는 다문화유아들을 다문화라는 집단적 속성뿐만 아니라 개인적 관점과 사회적 관점 등 여러 관점을 통합하여 바라봐야 함을 시사한다. 이를 위해 예비유아교사들을 위한 적합한 다문화 교사교육이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide the direction and basic data for the development of multicultural teacher curriculum and the practice of multicultural curriculum for young children by examining the recognition and perspectives on young children of multicultural family of pre-service early childhood teacher. To this end, we collected 149 metaphor for multicultural young children of multicultural family from November to December 2018. The results of this study are as follows. The pre-service early childhood teachers perspective about young children of multicultural family appeared from the perspective of individual competence, group comparison, and social integration. First, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived young children of multicultural family as children with special abilities, children who need care and help from the perspective of individual competence. Second, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived them as children who are same with the ordinary Korean children and different with them from the perspective of group comparison. Finally, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived young children of multicultural family as children contributing to social development and harmonizing with social members from the perspective of social integration. These results proposed that the perspectives on young children of multicultural family should be integrated in context and a proper multicultural education for pre-service early childhood teachers is needed.
