어울림 활동이 만 5세 유아의 자기조절에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 어울림 활동이 만 5세 유아의 자기조절에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 경상남도에 위치한 두 곳의 어린이집에 다니는 만 5세 유아 40명이다. 본 연구를 위해 수집된 자료는 실험집단과 비교집단의 자기조절에 대한 사전검사와 사후검사 점수를 반복측정변인으로 설정하여 반복측정 ANOVA를 실시하여 분석하였으며, 집단과 반복측정 변인간의 상호작용의 유의성을 검증하였다. 연구의 결과는 어울림 활동이 유아들의 자기조절, 자기통제 그리고 자기점검을 향상시키는데 효과가 있었고 자기통제의 하위요인인 행동억제와 정서성, 그리고 자기점검의 하위요인인 자기결정에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 어울림 활동이 유아의 자기조절을 향상시키는 데 효과가 있음을 검증함으로서 유아교육현장에서 유아의 자기조절을 증진시킬 수 있는 활동을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있겠다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of “aulim” (get-along in Korean) activities on self-regulation of five-year-old children. The subjects were 40 children aged 5 years at two child care centers in Gyeongsangnam-do. The collected data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA by setting pre-test and post-test self-regulation scores as the repeated measure dependent variable for both experimental group and control group. The interaction between the group and the dependent variable was tested for significance. The results of this study showed that the “aulim” activities were effective in improving self-regulation, self-control, and self-monitoring of young children. It also had a significant effect on improving behavior inhibition and emotionality, which are sub-factors of self-control, and self-determination, a sub-factor of self-monitoring. This study indicates that “aulim” activity program could improve the ability to self-control. Furthermore, this study suggests a possibility to utilize this program at a child care center in order to improve children s capability to self-control.
