탈근대 학교에서 심미적 교육문화 형성을 위한 논의 - 유아교육을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

근대 학교가 지식과 권위의 상징으로 폐쇄성을 추구하여 왔다면 탈근대 시대에서 학교는 근대 공교육이 부여한 공적 권력의 이완을 통해 보다 새로운 가능성과 수용성을 요구받고 있다. 유아교육은 근대 공교육으로부터 상대적으로 자유로웠던 이유로 근대 학교가 가지는 경직된 교육과정으로부터 벗어나 비교적 부드럽고 열려있는 심미적 교육문화를 만들어 올 수 있었다. 이러한 유아교육이 내적으로 가지는 미적특성을 공간과 시간, 그리고 관계와 지식미학의 관점에서 알아보았으며 이를 통해 탈근대 시대에 학교가 가지는 교육문화의 지향점을 논의해 보고자 하였다. 탈근대 시대에서 학교는 시대의 변화에 부응하기 위한 자생적 노력의 일환으로 권력과 폐쇄성에서 벗어나 지역과 타자 그리고 수용성과 부드러움으로 변혁하는 심미적 관계의 그물망으로 새로운 교육문화를 형성해나가야 하며 영유아를 위한 교육환경도 이러한 탈근대 시대에서 변화하는 학교의 역할과 위상 속에서 함께 재정비 되어야 함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims at exploring the meaning of aesthetic school culture in post-modern era, which was discussed through explorations on the significance of aesthetic school culture in early childhood education. For this aim, the disposition of school in Modern era, which is viewed as a symbol of authority, was discussed. Then the discussion goes to examine the characteristics of aesthetic culture embedded in early childhood education which has been more tendency to have aesthetic culture because it has not been formally a part in public school system. Aesthetic school culture in early childhood education was particularly analyzed in the four features of aesthetics in early childhood schools, namely space, time, relationship and knowledge. Based on this discussion, it seems that what should be role of school in post-modern era is to have more aesthetic culture which are featured in openness, and deconstructing of authority, expanded view of school participants etc. Particularly this study mentioned the ambiguous relationship the art education and aesthetic school culture, which should not be viewed as equal. As a matter of fact, aesthetic school culture should be viewed as more expanded area including arts, space, time, relationship, and experience of knowledge construction. Finally, it suggests that early childhood education which has built good quality of aesthetic school culture should also keep and empower this disposition in post-modern era.
